CBS Apologizes for Jackson's Exposure (MTV will not produce another Halftime show)

NEW YORK - CBS apologized for an unexpectedly R-rated end to its Super Bowl halftime show, when singer Justin Timberlake (news) tore off part of Janet Jackson (news)'s top, exposing her breast.

The two singers were performing a flirtatious duet to end the halftime show, and at the song's finish, Timberlake reached across Jackson's leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast.

The network quickly cut away from the shot, and did not mention the incident on the air.

Timberlake said he did not intend to expose Jackson's breast.

"I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said in a statement. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."

Wade said CBS officials attended rehearsals of the halftime show all week, "and there was no indication any such thing would happen. The moment did not conform to CBS' broadcast standards and we would like to apologize to anyone who was offended."

The Super Bowl halftime show, which also featured P. Diddy, Nelly and Kid Rock, was produced by MTV, CBS' corporate cousin in Viacom.

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show," Joe Browne, NFL executive vice president, said. "They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the content of the show.

"It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

MTV issued a contrite statement, saying the incident was "unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional."

Fair enough. I agree that under-aged kids were unfairly and inappropriately exposed, and that was wrong.

You can't even handle art and you are calling me immature??

You're calling what happened last night "art"?

Man, maybe you are worse off than I thought!

Get in bed with dogs and you wake up with fleas. CBS got what it deserved and deviency is further dumbed down.

Amen. The entertainment industry is morally bankrupt. Several times over.

Your sanctimony is repulsive. Since your such a free spirit why not take your kids to New Orleans this year so they can see balcony sex acts- after all its a beautiful and natural thing.

That's ok, Prolifeconservative.

No, I was not lining up behind porterville's comments.

I was juxtaposing portville's complaint that everything is for the children with your statement that your 7 year old son was exposed to something you did not intend for him to see. portville seems to think it is ok for children to witness a man ripping off a woman's clothing to expose her bare breast. After all, it's just a breast. But like you, I do not want my children seeing such acts.

No one fears breasts, only the creeping degradation of beauty, virtue and decency.

I'm thinking it's time to call or write CBS and let them know that their channel will soon be locked out of my TV, (the multiple MTV's already are).

I"m sure the hymn on Sunday too has to do with getting someone naked by the end of the hymn too right and it sure looks like the angels were tearing the clothes off of the women in the painting right? Ever heard of context? I doubt anyone on this forum would cringe over a woman breastfeeding her child in public, but if the same woman got up and performed a stripshow in a public place, people would be rightly offended and disgusted.

MTV is lying. This type of filth is their bread and butter.

Liberals and MTV have many, many channels to push soft core porn on - and still, they had to push it at a family football game. The question is "why"?

Here's my theory: hollywood mtv types are so emotionally and sexually dead inside that only the most outrageous can turn them on. They do the extreme because they've lost the ability to feel - and shocking acts become their inadequate substitute.

Hollywood liberal MTV types express hatred for citizens who can love and feel love. Real love doesn't work for them - no, their sex jokes are about whips. They're dead inside. And they hate us for it.

Moral equivalent crap you and your buddy present. You really don't see any difference between a porno movie and a woman breastfeeding a baby? That actually sets you in the same group as those who would berate a breastfeeding mother for being vulgar since the truly uptight and the truly vulgar both can't put into context the nudity they see.

You're talking to the wrong chica. At 35, I'm twice the age of the demographic that finds him manly.

Janet could have Justin charge with rape, that would get her out of hot water.

It looks like she wants him to me. But then again, maybe that's why I've been slapped so many times.
