Arrest over bomb joke on plane
From correspondents in New York January 17, 2004
A HOLIDAYING French student was in a New York jail here awaiting a court appearance following his arrest over an aircraft bomb "joke".
He left the plane at New York's Kennedy Airport after allegedly joking that he had put a bomb in the plane's toilet, court sources said.
Frank Moulet, 27, was in custody in a floating detention centre called "The Boat" in Long Island Sound off the borough of The Bronx pending charges of making a "false scare".
His girlfriend, arrested with him after they arrived on an American Airlines flight from Santo Domingo, was put on another plane and sent back to France.
Police were called to the plane after a cabin attendant reported that Moulet raised his fist in the air as the plane was landing and shouted, "Oh sh*t, I guess the bomb I planted in the toilet didn't go off".
He faces up to four years in prison on the charge.
US immigration officials have said they are also interested in questioning him.

It is illegal to act like a normal human being when boarding an aircraft.
That's why human beings should never, ever, ever, ever, ever fly.
Only automatons and totalitarians should fly.

Is it common for 27 year old men to be students in France? Where do 27 year old students get dough for Caribbean vacations?
To: E. Pluribus Unum
You could have been arrested for saying something like that on an airplane in 1974. This is a very stoopid thing to do in 2004.
To: OXENinFLA
This is actually very funny. A bomb in the toilet... laugh... I did that this morning also.

How appropriate, just like a turd. ;-)

Never yell to your friend Jack, "Hi, Jack!" at an airport, either.

Only automatons and totalitarians should fly. Do the world a favor.
Take one, and only one, more flight.
Go to gay Paris where you can live, reminisce, and joke with Frank and his girlfriend.

You and the terrorists have the same objective. Actually, that statement applies to you.
America stands for freedom.
You and the terrorists don't.

Some of us HAVE to fly... and I for one will never give into a band of terrorists. I made it a point to keep flying (5 times in Sept 2001 after the attacks even though I was I was stranded for a few days because of them) and no Quran quoting freak is going to put me off.

You are conspiring to bankrupt the airlines. That is exactly what the terrorists are doing.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
I hope all the airlines go bankrupt. I am doing my part to make this a reality. You have at least two things in common with Osama bin Laden. I resent inconvenience and officiousness as much as the next guy, but I recall noting in August 2001 how lax airline security really was. I was glad that no one really wanted to hurt us. 9-11 shook me out of my Libertarian torpor.

IT WAS NOT NECESSARY TO TURN AIRPORTS INTO CONCENTRATION CAMPS AFTER 911.
911 will never happen again, because American passengers WILL NOT ALLOW IT.
All that was necessary was to put impenetrable doors on cockpits.
Instead the federal government created a make-work program for minimum-IQ gestapo to root through peoples' underwear and randomly treat them like criminals because we can't actually target people most likely to be terrorists.
Enjoy your body cavity searches.
