Has anybody started an email/letter writing campaign in response to the president's proposed immigration initiative?
We need to show the president that he can't take advantage of his conservative base.

What's even worse...he is pandering to criminals..those who cross our borders under the wire, are committing a crime. I think he is wrong to reward them and the millions who are now on their way.

I am one of the folks in uniform an I think we need to send a signal that we're not going to let our values get trampled in the name of strategery, whether it be at home (medicare, immigration), or internationally (North Korea).

here...here.
Bold and workable solution to a vexing problem without easy solutions. I don't know about other freepers here, but as a German-Scotch-Irish-Hungarian some legal/some WOP descendent, this is not the time for "pull up the ladder, I'm aboard, haul up the rope, I'm across" mentalities to this problem.
My two cents...in full recognition of the havoc that illegal immigration has, and WILL continue to wreak on our society, especially on the border states that feel the full brunt of the strain this puts on resources and populations...

Good for you!
When I think back to 9/11 and consider the alternatives... We were truly blessed that this man is in the White House at this point in our national history. He's a leader who is not afraid to take the steps he believes necessary, despite the constant complaints and naysaying of europe, the UN, the democrats, the press and our own fringe elements.
He's been there for us...we need to be there for him.

My wife voted fro GW last election. I did not & haven't voted for a pubbie since the greatest president of the 20th century left office(Reagan). However, my wife today plus one of our valued 20 yr worker & friend said that Bush lost their vote in the upcoming election. FReepers, this is a conservative web site. This man is not a conservative by the definition that has been in place for many past yrs. He tried to deal with this problem but he pulled a Clinton. This program is a failure. This president knows it. The "Two-Party Cartel" again is behind this. WOW. I'm just now hearing Lou Dobbs hit a home run on this issue. Listen to the replay. Carl Rove IMO is an Anti-American for this outrages policy. Beem me up Scotty. To hell with this whole government. Pack your bags Americans. Fox & Bush just Bushwacked you. Now you are going to validate this crapola by voting for this globalist. If so, you deserve the outcome.

...it is not a win-win for the country and for preserving the nation's ethnic balance. It smacks of treason.
I`m with you, Tom.

"A bold move by a bold President.".. Oh so are you praising him for subordinating the welfare of the common American for the well being of the Republican party? This is praiseworthy?

You folks who call mexican border crossers criminals, I want you to just imagine that instead of being born here, you were born in Mexico. Now, you can stay where you're at, making 2-3 dollars a DAY or you can go pick lettuce and fruit for 5-6 bucks an hour and send money for your family back home so they can make a life for themselves.
Remember, as americans, we were all born with a veritable solver spoon in hour mouths.
If you can honestly say you wouldn't cross a fence to provide food for your children, then you aren't fit to live on my planet. Please exit now.
Bush has done the right thing. They are here now, and at least this way they don't have to deal with the Coyotes bringing them over in unventilated trucks.
