My wife voted fro GW last election. I did not & haven't voted for a pubbie since the greatest president of the 20th century left office(Reagan). However, my wife today plus one of our valued 20 yr worker & friend said that Bush lost their vote in the upcoming election. FReepers, this is a conservative web site. This man is not a conservative by the definition that has been in place for many past yrs. He tried to deal with this problem but he pulled a Clinton. This program is a failure. This president knows it. The "Two-Party Cartel" again is behind this. WOW. I'm just now hearing Lou Dobbs hit a home run on this issue. Listen to the replay. Carl Rove IMO is an Anti-American for this outrages policy. Beem me up Scotty. To hell with this whole government. Pack your bags Americans. Fox & Bush just Bushwacked you. Now you are going to validate this crapola by voting for this globalist. If so, you deserve the outcome.

Today, Pres. Bush lost my vote. I won`t vote for any dim-wit-crat, so I guess it is off to the Libertarian Party I go. I am so glad that I held back my donations to the Bush Campaign. This was the last straw for me. Pres. Bush will soon learn that this was not a good move. I just pray the Republicans maintain control of the US House and Senate, which I beleive they will. If a Republican candidate steps forward to challange GW with "real" Conservative views, I will support them without question. Since I don`t see that happening, my attention will be with the Libertarian Party candidate(s). You all can flame me for this, but this is how I feel. Pres. Bush is fracturing his base for the Hispanic vote !! I hope he is happy now.

So what is your solution other than threatening to not vote because he is not ideal to you. How do you pick the grapes and manage the Mexican illegal problem?? We know what your opinion of the man is, what is your Conservative solution. This is exactly why nobody wants to touch this third rail.

Pray for W and The Truth

"Now you are going to validate this crapola by voting for this globalist. If so, you deserve the outcome"

. . .and if you have not voted for a 'pubbie' since Ronald Reagan; then you have contributed to the problem rather than the solution.

Where were you; when you were needed? Voting for Perot?

Do you agree with this assesment of GW?

The Bush Enigma
How then can one explain George w. Bush, the man on whom so many Americans placed such great hope? All we can say is that there are several theories to choose from, all of which fall in the realm of speculation.

One theory holds that he is a good man with fine instincts and excellent intentions, but is such a hater of confrontation that he has effectively been steamrolled by the non-conservatives who surround him.

Another theory holds that he was never a real conservative in the first place, but i8 a very capable orator who can read a good speech and produce a convincing image. The United Republicans of Texas published such a view in 1998, after having experienced all of the years that George w. Bush governed their state.(37)

One individual who shares the view that Mr. Bush's political effect has never been conservative is Thomas Gale Moore of Stanford University's Hoover Institution. In a syndicated column appearing in May 1998, (38) he discussed the much-publicized Bush plans to cut spending and reduce bureaucratic regulation. But Mr. Moore then cautioned:

Skeptics find President Bush's record as governor, often alluded to during the campaign, far from reassuring, especially since he used much the same rhetoric during his gubernatorial campaigns as appeared later during his campaign for the presidency.

While in Austin, raised sales taxes, and sharply increased taxes on business.

While he was in office, Texas government expenditures increased faster than was typical of other states. Notwithstanding his campaign rhetoric, welfare expenditures alone escalated 61 percent in real terms during his two terms as governor.

That is hardly a record that should merit the label "conservative."

"This man is not a conservative by the definition that has been in place for many past yrs. "

. . .the political axis shifted when we move into our new millenium. Make the best of it; not the worst.

Bush is attempting the near impossible; to bring a reasoned sanity out of the mess of illegal immigration. The resistance, vitriol and hatred of this initiative can only be compared to a violent knee-jerk reaction.

As for Bush's choices; if you do not like the liberal aspects; then accept that 'more Conservatives' need to be grown for the future. . .maybe we should start with the NEA and have them change their philosophy of 'good citizenship' and then just educate or re-educate; the next generation. . .

In the meantime, Bush has a huge responsibility and more than Conservatives to worry about.

You don't like the job he is doing? Just wait and see what happens when any one of the 'others' comes in for Presidential empowerment.

It would behoove all of you naysayers to support our President; and think, more than twice - about what it is, you think you may gain, by NOT supporting George Bush.
