I think you need a little education yourself, no disrespect. You and Dean need to get to know some black Americans who are productive and more than a lot of white people I know. There are many black conservatives and even liberals who are not dependent. Yet, black people are the only group that needs to explain themselves to people such as yourself and Dean.

Then again, there's one in the white demographic, too.

I spent a few hours per week last semester at a low income, almost totally white, elementary school. It was an eye opener! Getting ANY cooperation from those parents was like pulling teeth.

Kids would turn up with notes that said that so-and-so was absent because "I had things to do" or it was too cold. A number of kids almost never turned in homework. When free, after school, tutoring was offered and recommended by the teacher, it was often turned down. And you know these kids weren't going to Sylvan...

It's a mindset, an attitude. The teachers get frustrated and don't expect that they can do anything to influence the parents. I don't know who can.

That does it. I'm now officially on the "this guy has no clue" bandwagon. I grew up in SE Alabama in the 60's and 70's. I guess one could say I was 'Home-schooled" in race relations. The controversy in trying to comment on this is the basic fallicy in what Dean has said, not in just our personal stumbles at expessing ourselves. We react based upon our shorthand for trying to deal with the real problem.

Dean's falicy, like all libs, is in believing himself and his fellows as the "annointed" (Sowell's term).

Dealing with the real problem is in not dealing with people as classes or groups, first of all. And subsiquently, dealing in a way the honors our principles and best hope for our nation. This must start with Equal Protection, Freedom from Arbitrary Power, and living by the principles of the Enduring Moral Order conservatives hold as utmost.

Dean is going to be a fine nominee, I can see that now, LOL.

The fact is if one only surrounds themselves with vagrant civil rights leaders and low class welfare cheats then a person would think EVERY black person in America is like that. Liberals think blacks need their help because they surround themselves with losers.
