When Bush picked a politician to head HS, that was a bad sign.

Mexico is looking for the United States to ease restrictions on the entry of unskilled workers . . .

Ease restrictions? I didn't realize we had any in place. They're obviously not being enforced, if there are.

The Feds get enuf $$$ from YOU! The amnesty is a HUGE VOTER block, PR for Fox and a band-aid to INS backup. They can basically start over from scratch, less the 10 million annexed in.

Right about what? Is it 8 million or 9, 10, 11 or 12 million? That's a huge disparity, and it's only an estimate!

You are exactly right. The Democrats want illegals who will vote for their handouts and drag the rest of us down the drain with them.

Until we get serious about illegal immigration, our country will continue to decline. The focus needs to be on educated, LEGAL immigrants who have had criminal/medical background checks and who can supply the kinds of scientific, engineering and technological skills to CONTRIBUTE and help make our economy competitive in the 21st Century. The quality of our children's and grandchildren's future depends on the US taxpayers' willingness to quit funding and supporting illegal immigration.

Mexico is looking for the United States to ease restrictions on the entry of unskilled workers and on visas for family members of legal immigrants.

Then lets just end that big joke called NAFTA and bring all the maquilas and factory jobs we sent to Mexico which was an agreement we made so they'd have jobs in Mexico. That government intends to send us every last one of it's unskilled ---- so we're going to need those NAFTA jobs all back for them to have something to do.

Bill O'Reilly and Rush need to jump on this issue. GWB doesn't care what we think about this because he already has our vote. I mean, if we let Dean become President we'll have bike paths crossing the Rio Grand. That's worse.

I'm sure that O'Reilly will be on it, but Rush is a little "all about me" lately, so he's useless here.

Ridge has also admitted # of illegals could be 20,000,000..worst case scenario.

20,000,000 is how many illegals they think are here now --- but that wouldn't be the worst case scenario --- in the late 80's amnesty there were 300,000 illegals here --- but the amnesty was given to over 3,000,000 --- more than ten times the number that were living here. It would be far more than 20,000,000 because just like in that last amnesty, people will be coming over to claim their amnesty --- many people who never stepped foot in this country before.

"A lot of people will just stay home rather than vote for him , costing him more votes than the Hispanic votes he hopes to gain."

Count me in that group unless you can find another candidate, ANYONE, who will do something to stop this surrender of our national sovereignty!

Amnesty will lose Bush a lot more votes than it will give him, I don't care what anyone says. But we have to be noisy voters. I know people who are natural Bush voters who probably will not vote if this goes through.

You want to really piss them off?

Send a campaign check to Tom Tancredo, xerox it and send the copy to the RNC and tell them if they do this, you will either vote for his opponent or stay home on election day!

Huge disparity? I think that, and the fact that we have millions of illegal aliens tells you we do not enforce our existing immigration laws properly, and have therefore created a massive underground of second class residents.

Having lived in So. Cal. for most of my life, I'm glad the administration is trying to come up with a solution to the problem.

As a CA citizen were you a supporter of Prop 187? Since then what strides in policy have taken place. Do you still pay for every "undocumented immigrant" who utilizes public services? What about jail overcrowding? Does your state deport Mexicans after they serve time? CA and INS has had almost 10 years to learn from Prop 187. What have we learned.....to get a grip?

"From what I've seen of Bush, once he's made his mind up, he won't change it, come hell or high water. If this is what he wants, to only chance to stop it is in the House. Contacting our Reps. my be the best option."

You are absolutely right. He can't sign legislation that doesn't make it to his desk.

Agree #19, how can we vote for him?

Frankly, I am not. Will sit on my hands or support a third party conservative (and GWB is not that) candidate.

Am learning of a growing number of GWB's base who can no longer support GWB as long as he refuses to end the scourge of illegal immigration.

Should we have a major terrorist attack, before November, by people who have illegally entered the country, GWB can watch himself become the second one-term Bush.

Time for those who are avidly against GWB's position on immigration to notify the White House and start looking for a third party candidate to oppose the President.

Short of that, we will be ignored.

If we want to send a strong message to Bush for the general election we should follow suit writing in Tancredo for that will show up in ALL 50 states, wouldn't you agree?
