You are right.. .. interesting isn't it that the #'s were so understated by Ridge when Vincente Fox said it's "over 20 million Mexicans and according to the CONAPO report it's 23 million Mexicans and with family reunification it will be more like 3X's that number.

Maybe intuition...maybe because prospective fruit pickers might have their self esteem lowered by engaging in an activity not officilly sanctioned by the Fed (you aware of any massive Fed job training programs re: citrus ?).
After all, if there isn't Fed meddling...is it (fruit pickin') something an ordinary citizen should be concerned w/ ?

and old TV shows so I can show my son what the country looked like when I grew up. I'm not sure if I can handle his anger when he says, "Dad...how come I have to live in Mexico when you got to live in the U.S.?" Good idea about the videos. Me, I am seriously thinking of packing it in and leaving. My husband works for a Swedish company and well, despite all their problems at least they still manufacture stuff and they did turn down the Euro.

"Many would deport themselves *if* we....."
imposed a bounty on reporting illegals that were then deported? Would cost us less than it's costing now..

LA a clean beautiful city in the 50's ?
You're jokin, right ?
I distinctly remember a trip to my dad's office in downtown (mid 50's)looking toward where I10 would soon be...visibility 1/4 mile SMOG !!!
Disgusting !

My husband works for a Swedish company Thought of that. The conditions that forced my ancestors to leave Germany and Britain 300 years ago don't exist anymore. Skiing's good in the Alps...hmmm.
Well, I just don't want to give the bastards the victory. They want to resurrect feudalism, and they have lots of prospective serfs to do it with. If they open the borders, they figure they can just overwhelm us, and our votes will be irrelevant. But only if they do it now....we still have a chance.
Maybe I'm an incurable optimist, but I think that a determined effort now will stop it. For the first time in a long time, most of the country is sensitized to this. Even CNN is letting Lou Dobbs run his "Outsourcing America" series. That would have gone nowhere in 1992. And as for the B.S. lines about how this will be the "last amnesty", no one will be fooled this time.
Once more into the Breech, dear friends. Once more.
And if that doesn't work, maybe we can all apply for Swedish work permits...

That's why we need to rework our immigration laws to reflect what we are willing to enforce.>>>>>>
More *spin*........when do the citizens get to make their list of laws we're 'willing to obey' ??
and *when* will the citizens recieve this short list of laws INS is *willing* to enforce ???
*AFTER* the Jan. visit to be sure 'the new list' meets with Vincente's approval ????
You know the Jan. visit was announced in the mexico papers in early Dec., yet it wasn't in our papers for another two weeks.

"More *spin*........when do the citizens get to make their list of laws we're 'willing to obey' ?? " Spin? More like practical gov't. Like Prohibition and the 55 MPH speed limit. I would also place laws against recreational drug use in the same category. Some laws just aren't properly enforced or they are ignored.
and *when* will the citizens recieve this short list of laws INS is *willing* to enforce ???
The INS is limited in resources and by law in what it can do to enforce the immigration laws. It is not a matter of the INS's will to enforce the immigration laws, it's a matter of the voters will to see that the proper resources and laws are enforced. Millions of illegal aliens tells me that we don't have the will to enforce our existing laws. So the question becomes, which laws are we willing to enforce?

interesting isn't it that the #'s were so understated by Ridge when Vincente Fox said it's ""over 20 million Mexicans" and according to the CONAPO report it's "23 million Mexicans"In a way it's kind of useless to toss these numbers around. The U.S. media (often in the same article) will use the words "hispanic", "latinos", "immigrants", "migrants" and "undocumented workers" to the point where you have no idea who they're even discussing.
As far as Vicente Fox, he considers any and everybody in America of Mexican descent to be Mexicans, as in his own "people". Most of the Mexican-Americans have no connection to Mexico.
Hey, I just thought of something. Maybe Fox is also including everybody who has/bought/forged a Matricula Consular card to be a Mexican. :)

"Gosh, I hadn't thought about that. Guatemalans using fraud and the Mexican birth certificate mill (Mexican "documents" = joke) to get in on the free for all.
And Salvadorans, and Nicarauguans, and and and...all of South America.
"
And do not forget A Qaeda operatives that have been studying Spanish to exploit this situation.
Mahmoud Abouhalima, WTC bombing cell leader (Arab with the red hair and beard), was granted amnesty in 1986 as a lettuce picker. And look what that led to, 7 years later.
How do we stop AQ agents with Mexican ID's from becoming citizens and developing cells and planning attacks for the next 20 years?
And all Bush can say is that businesses need more workers that they will not have to pay taxes on, to increase the profits in their cash businesses- workers who also pay no taxes, and take advantage of 10 welfare programs at the same time.
Amnesty will not change the fact that 20,000,000 will still rob the taxpayer and exploit us, with the help of their activist lawyers.
Personally, I am a little tired of business owners getting cash rich with illegal labor while others do things the legal way and get screwed. More and more businesses will begin to defraud the govt as they get fed up with everyone around them doing it. I've reached the tipping point myself.

Sorry to hear about Reno. Is Sparks the same way?
I know some people who "escaped" to Nevada about ten years ago and they see it coming their way again, just like what happened to California. I hear the same thing about Lake Tahoe, too.
Hang in there!

If it's 'up to the voters' then let Washington put it up for us to vote on. (immigration)
Don't put then blame on the voters for lack of immigration enforcement. All our 'electeds' take an oath to enforce ALL US laws.

Millions of illegals tell me our 'electeds' are choosing which laws they want to enforce.
Ever heard Washinton announce they didn't have the *resources* to prosecute all TAX-EVADERS ??

Mahmoud Abouhalima My favorite amnesty fraud case. The only lettuce that asshole ever picked was out of somebody else's pocket.

I have said this before and I will say it again:
A middle finger in the face of all Americans.
Screw the elites.

"2. Those already here MUST apply for a Green Card. 3. They cannot become an American citizen for 2 years. 4. They cannot VOTE for at least 3 years."
Yoe, it appears that you want to weaken our immigration laws.
Concerning the above items:
2. In order to be here legally, they must already be the holder of a green card.<
3. The law now states that a person must be a legal resident of the United States for five years before they are eligible to become a citizen.
4. Any American citizen over the age of 18 may vote unless they have been defranchized by a court. But see no. 3 again.

Ever heard Washinton announce they didn't have the *resources* to prosecute all TAX-EVADERS ?? Or that they planned to extend amnesty to all citizen tax evaders?
BTW, will Mssrs. Bush/Rove/Ridge ask that the beneficiaries of this amnesty plead guilty to their federal crimes (illegally entering, document fraud, working without green card, and God knows what else) and accept a Federal criminal record that they would have to wear for the rest of their lives in the U.S.?
Why is it that foreign non-citizens are about to be given a gift that this administration refuses to give to Americans? Will the millions of citizens convicted of federal drug possession have their records expunged and all of their civil rights restored? What about all the police officers who lost their jobs because they could no longer carry a gun after being convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence(!)?
This amnesty will be unprecedented in American history: millions upon millions of foreigners granted rights and privileges far in excess of anything ever extended to Americans. How low on the Totem pole are we?

I spent time with Salameh and Abouhalima, and provided irrefutable evidence to the FBI that they were associates.
Previously, they denied knowing each other during interrogation.
