John, I offer my most heartfelt thanks.
Laz, Race, all the rest, likewise.

I have a friend who used to (and maybe still does) sit up all night with a rosary in his hand and a .45 on his desk wondering which he should use. Sometimes I can so well understand his despair. But I also know just how FINAL that solution is. And I am so glad I don't drink anymore the way I used to, so that I would give in to the temptation to eliminate my pain in that final way.

Your prayers are so welcome and I thank you for them!

"The Lord helps those who help themselves"

That is a popular phrase.

In one sense it's true. If we walk by faith in Christ and believe His Word instead walking in the traditions of men, then yes He will honor our faith. His Word says so!

On the other hand if we walk in our own flesh thinking we can do it all on our own without Him, He cannot help us.

Just as well, Arne, you always were an idiot.

I go away for a day to buy new clothes and play in the Christmas orchestra, and when I get back, you're all over the thread, which I'm sure Chris's widow has read, spreading your nonsense.

No, really, fall off something very high, onto something very sharp, OK?

The good Lord doesn't put more on our shoulders than we can bear. Some people cannot see that, unfortunately.

That is because that statement is NOWHERE to be found in the Bible. It is made up I persume. If I am wrong, please ping me with Bible verse and I will gladly stand corrected.

Thanks

When the going gets real bad, I hit my knees and say a prayer. It's saved my butt more than once, I'll tell ya! Thanks for the thoughtful response.

Herbal remedies are very iffy....they may work for one person and actually exacerbate the condition for another person. I don't think depression or insomnia should EVER be treated with herbal remedies!

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune. You must be one tough guy! I hope and pray you can keep your chin up. Breakups and job losses are among the toughest to handle in life. Let me know how you're doing from time to time, and hang in there!

Apathy and entropy are contrary to life. Life is a creative, organizing force in the universe-- the opposite of entropy, as I see it. That said, I suffer from some apathy and entropy, as well. And as I get older, it gets harder!

1 Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

(While the above may not be verbatim quotes of the statement, "God never gives us more than we can bear," they are sufficient for me.)

By some of the posts on this thread, it appears that Freepers are more inclined to being insensitive "holier-than-thou" blowhard ghouls.

It has become horrible here since the 2000 elections. The Holier than thou art idiots and bible thumpers really think they can't be touched by life. They may not be able to recognize it when it happens. They have never been tested and may fall short when real life intrudes on their perfect little world if they are able to realize it.

We are in the minority here in Humboldt but what did we do to Mendocino County for you to stick us with Tim Stoen ?

"The Lord helps those who help themselves" That is a popular phrase.

Not to be found in the Bible however. It comes from Aesop's Fables.

I do believe that is the verse people get the saying, but if examined, it is definately not saying "God never gives us more than we can bear". It is saying that God will provide an way to escape (even if it just means running away as fast as you can from temptation). We can definately put ourselfs in the way of trouble that is more than we can bear.

I do not mean to be disrespectful, BUT if you knew what we were talking about it would make a difference.
Your body is made up of amino acids.
L-Tryptophan is an amino acid.
I invite you to do an engine search on L-tryptophan and ALSO look up www.Moodcure.com

Herbs are a whole other animal. YOU are full of amino acids, It is part of your and my make up. They are building blocks of the body.

You're a real charmer, Arne. Just back from time out and telling me to f*** off via FRmail...

Bright, very bright, after those wonderful pulled posts that got you in the naughty corner in the first place. Looks like "gifted and talented" are two words you never saw on your report card.
