Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, has an opinion piece over at The Politico that should be a must read for Republican party strategists. Brown confirms what I have been saying for some time now: illegal immigration is the key issue for the 2008 election cycle.

The Washington Post's campaign blog, The Trail, notes that Eliot Spitzer finally dropped his Licenses for Lawbreakers® scheme, but too late. The damage, you see, has already been done. Spitzer, in his drive to try to reach the center of the earth, has managed to top (bottom?) even today's tic tacs tax news!

Yes, he is releasing an onslaught of extremely hard core criminals onto the streets of New York. My gosh, He's about to make Michael Dukakis look presidential!

Speaking of how absolutely laughable Time Magazine has become, they have also given us this objective and balanced cover story:

'She is a pragmatic moderate about what? There has never been anything moderate about Mrs.Clinton. Having a philosophical appreciation for the articles of Motive magazine, authored by Carl Oglesby( founder of Students for a Democratic Society; SDS), working with and admiring Saul Alinsky, Edelman, Treuhaft, and other famous American patriots and defenders of the American way of life makes Hillary a pragmatic moderate?'

Again one has to ask, will Mr. Klein’s contribution in kind be reported to the FEC?

It's Wednesday, So We Must Have A New Position

First she sounded sympathetic to the idea during a televised debate, and within moments had refused to endorse it. Afterwards, she changed her mind and endorsed it. Now today, after Governor Eliot Spitzer shelved a plan to issue New York drivers licenses to illegal aliens, Hillary Clinton shifted her position yet again to oppose the idea entirely:

--It's absurd to think that someone who prepared for this run at the presidency for at least the last seven years couldn't come up with a single answer.

Hillary has been exposed as an empty suit on par with John Edwards and Barack Obama.

UPDATE: Did Hillary pressure Spitzer into ending his plan to take the heat off of her? I'm with Allahpundit on this one; I'm somewhat skeptical that Hillary has that much pull with Spitzer, and Hillary makes a handy enough scapegoat to allow Spitzer off the hook. Hillary and Obama go at it over entitlements.9:40pm Eastern. Kucinich finds a chance to call for impeachment. “IMPEACHMENT NOW!” The crowd goes wild. The Dems are in denial about the homeland security/immigration nexus.

9:25pm Eastern. Citizen questions. A mother stands with her son, who has served three tours of duty in Iraq. They oppose ” war with Iran.” Biden says Bush “should be impeached” if he goes to war with “Iraq” (he means Iran)

8:17pm Eastern. Hillary interjects. “I’ve been personally attacked again!” Waaah. The audience is getting restless. Hillary attacks Edwards for “throwing mud.” “When Edwards ran in 2004, he wasn’t for universal health care.”

comments (271) --Forget plants…this whole debacle is staged….with Hillary supporters..including CNN... these people are all making Al Gore look like a rocket scientist... I stopped watching after the canned questions. I am really tired of these Q & A dog and pony shows. How about asking some serious questions, like what TH is preparing? How many more of these drivel shows are there?

The only partially good thing I can think of, if they win, is they will be firing some of their own people that Jeorge kept on. Hell of a way to clean house as they’ll likely find worse.

"CNN ran out of time and used me to "close" the debate with the pearls/diamonds question. Seconds later this girl comes up to me and says, "you gave our school a bad reputation.' Well, I had to explain to her that every question from the audience was pre-planned and censored. That's what the media does. See, the media chose what they wanted, not what the people or audience really wanted. That's politics; that's reality. So, if you want to read about real issues important to America--and the whole world, I suggest you pick up a copy of the Economist or the New York Times or some other independent source. If you want me to explain to you how the media works, I am more than happy to do so. But do not judge me or my integrity based on that question."

CNN did an awful lot of pre-planning before last night's Las Vegas production.

Maria Luisa, (pictured) the UNLV student who asked Hillary Clinton whether she preferred "diamonds or pearls" last night, wrote on her MySpace page today that every question in last night's debate was pre-planned and censored.

They call it the Clinton News Network for a reason.

dems caught planting questions in the last debate!!--The game show “Twenty-One” had a scandal in the 1950s because they were giving some of the contestants the questions prior to broadcast. A network that gives the questions to a candidate or party prior to a debate is rigging the debate. A rigged debate is a rigged election.

CNN Pre-Plann(T)ed & Censored Every Question & Questioner at Dem Debate(?)! --It's hard to have a bad debate performance when:

** The audience is planted in your favor
** The questions are planted in your favor
** The questioners are your supporters
** The after debate spin room includes 2 former and 1 current staff members

The post debate was as Clinton-friendly as the actual debate.
The CNN debate may have been pre-planned and censored every step of the way, but CNN did not have to worry about a Clinton-friendly environment in the post debate.

CNN took care of that when hired the debate analysts.
Two of the three debate analysts worked for the Clintons.

David Gergen worked for 18 months as a Clinton advisor in the White House.
And, as Daily Kos pointed out, James Carville is a partisan Clinton supporter who was included in the post debate spin on CNN.
Carville has raised money for the Hillary campaign. He works for CNN as an analyst even though he also works on Hillary's campaign.
Only the third analyst, former Republican Congressman J.C. Watts, has never worked for the Clintons.

No wonder the Clinton Campaign said they will win the national election in a landslide yesterday.

It looks like Dan Riehl was on to something.

Jenny at The War Against Political Correctness blog has done some outstanding detective work on that recent CNN debate. You know the one. The one with the college student being told she had to ask a silly diamond question to Hillary. The one where it was supposed to be just a bunch of average joes asking questions.

But the deception was a bit more deeper then we thought.

First there was Catherine Jackson, the mother of a Iraq war vet whose question sounded vaguely familiar. How dramatic huh? Except last may she was doing the same schtick in front of Harry Reids office:

Then there was Khalid Khan who asked this question: Jenny found out that he is the President of the Islamic Society of Nevada.
