[history]
A Utah man with five wives is in court fighting to get his bigamy conviction overturned on the basis of the U.S. Supreme Court's June ruling that decriminalized homosexual relations.
The legal action by polygamist Tom Green in the Utah Supreme Court seems to confirm predictions of a Republican lawmaker and other social conservatives who warned that the high court's decision would open the door to attempts to legalize other sexual activities that historically have been outlawed by states, such as bigamy, polygamy, prostitution, adult incest and even bestiality.

He's got a good point.
Who gets to choose which "alternatives" are legal? Equal protection clause.
If one type of "irregular" marraige is allowed, all should be allowed. It's discrimination against a certain "choice" if the court votes otherwise.
"Polygomists have rights, too!"

Right now homosexual activists are claiming that they are being discriminated against when they immigrate to the US because their foreign "same sex marriages" are not recognized by the US.
Of course some other nations allow polygamy marriages that are not acknowledged in the US and some nations permit child brides, again a practice that is not acknowledged in the US.

Well, with homosexual rights, everyone get's to engage in the fetish of their choice as long as it's "Done in the privacy of their own home."
Court ruling. Government can't get involved in this mans private life. If he "chooses" 100 babes, it's OK now.

Polygamy makes a lot more sense than gay marriage.
(In fact, polygamy makes more sense than monogamy.)

You would have the right to bigamy; you have the right to polygamy; you have the right to incest; you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything," Sen. Rick Santorum, Pennsylvania Republican, predicted in April.
To: concerned about politics
Agree. It's the ol' slippery-slope. Which happens to be true.

Didnt some Pub take heat for predicting just such a thing would happen? I've got a better prediction:
I predict that if successful, this gay marriage business will cause the end of state-sponsored marriage of any kind.

Agree. It's the ol' slippery-slope. Which happens to be true. You see, a liberal is a person with lower than normal intelligence, who's been educated well beyond their capabilities.
Santorum had foresight. Republicans are smarter. They have common sense.

Polygamy?? Who cares, I'm going to marry my dog, she is one perfect bitch...

But people like Andrew Sullivan and Bill O'Reilly told me that the slippery slope argument was ludicrous. They can't be wrong.

It's the ol' slippery-slope. If gays can marry gays, then . . .
Why not threesomes of all the same sex or various mixtures or some combination of sexes and humans and their pets . . . and why stop at 3?
And then how about marrying animals to animals?
Eventually, everyone can make and dissolve whatever unions they please . . . .
Then once that happens, marriage loses all universality and ceases to mean anything.
So then when that day comes, why bother getting married and why should the state care?

Polygamy?? Who cares, I'm going to marry my dog, she is one perfect bitch...I've already chosen a new SUV to marry. If I stop payments on it, what are they going to do? Kidnap my spouce? That's a felony!
To: JohnHuang2
I suspect that the main goal behind gay marriage is the destruction of heterosexual marriage.
The gays and the hetorosexual-liberals are some of them unconsciously, and others of them consciously, resentful of the heterosexual family and traditional American family values.
And they sense (the more intelligent will know) that imposing gay marriage on America will wreck all marriage and erode traditional American family values.
To: concerned about politics
Yes, gay marriage does objectify the idea of spouse, that is the best argument yet "the objectification of marriage" .... I think it is a cogent argument that could carry the day.

I will marry my son when hes 18.
He can then avoid probate, inheritance taxes, no need for expensive irrevocable living trusts.
I can now give him more than 10,000 annually without paying any gift tax!
Marrying will enable us to really reduce our tax exposure when transferring funs from generation to generation. Or from one family/corporation to another family/corporation.
People involved in shady dealings can marry to prohibit being compelled to testify against one and other in case they are caught.
Also,
I will be offering marriage on Ebay for $100.00 each to any one that wants to become a US Citizen.
When the liberals realize that they just made it very easy to transfer funds without having to pay taxes THEY will put a stop to this amoral nonsense. Not because liberals have any moral sense but because their life philosophy is so flawed they cannot survive on reduced tax income.
