THE NUTS HATE BUSH BUT WE LUVYA DUBYA: Beverly Hills AfterFreep Report!
Dec. 2, 2003

Posted on 12/02/2003 8:45:26 PM PST by Cinnamon Girl

While the nuts were gathering in the Beverly Hilton for their childish "Hate Bush" meeting, the America-loving, President Bush-loving folks from all around were joining up with signs and cheers on Wilshire Boulevard, across the street from the hotel.

And it wasn't just us Freepers-- the very good looking College Republicans from Loyola Marymount, Ted Hayes, and other happy people who heard about the rally from all the talk shows today (thanks talk show hosts!) were out there with us. Signs were upbeat: "Luvya Dubya", "L.A. Loves W.", "Real Men Love G.W." (that was Outraged, who was dressed in his superman costume), "President Bush is My Hero", and of course there were lots of American Flags.

As RonDog waved with his big Mickey Mouse hand and we waved our signs chanting "President Bush!" and "Five More Years!" TONS of cars passed us, many of them HONKING THEIR HORNS in support-- much more than I had expected, actually. I keep wanting to believe that more and more people are rejecting the liberal trash in LA; my experience at rallies over the years suggests to me that there is a changing tide. Yes, we got a lot of middle fingers-- one of the most common forms of expression from liberals-- but on the BIRD-OMETER, with the rally in front NBC studios during the Al Gore hissy fit being a 10, this ranked a 4. At that rally we got a lot of screaming curse words as well, but at this one, the anger was actually WAY, WAY toned down with a few "He's an idiot" comments and 'thumbs down' but the RAGE wasn't there.

Lots of media showed up: KTLA 5, CBS 2, channels 9 and 11 as well, plus a CBS from Sacramento.

The energy was really good, and, although the Hate Bush attendees came in through the backway from the parking garage and avoided us, there were a few loitering in the lobby who could see us, and well, if they watch the news tonight, I guess they'll get an earful.

Look for pictures from Freeper "rantblogger."

P.S. I saw two people give us the finger with one hand, while holding their phones in the other-- while DRIVING.

Great work! The fact that the Hollywood types staged a "HATE" Bush rally just confirms my impression of liberalism as the heart of darkness. I'm glad though they've dropped the pretense of compassion and shown themselves for who they really are.

Kudos, RonDog, for getting the word out in such short order. I thought that this was a very good turnout all things considered.

He also happens to be gay and detests what the gay Reagan-hating activists have done.

Thanks Al...I in fact know some very prominent homosexuals, and some not so prominent, in the Los Angeles area that are card carrying Republicans. Despite what the media would have the populace swallow, the Republican ground swell and revolution is a force that is only gaining in momentum.

And the cowardly press chimes in with suppressing the obvious news of our protests: CNN and LA Times

Let's see... there were denials that it was a "hate Bush" event, despite the ACT's being seeded with $10M from billionaire George Soros, who said about removing Bush:

"It is the central focus of my life, a matter of life and death". and "America, under Bush, is a danger to the world," Mr Soros said. Then he smiled: "And I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is."

Oh, yeah... this guy DOESN'T hate Bush.

>>Is there a reverse look-up for phone numbers?

Just sticking a phone number into Google is often effective.

I found it funny Heather Thomas was part of it,
I didn't know she was still alive ;)
LOL!

See also this SHORT EXCERPT from the L.A. Times story about last night's event:

If the meeting demonstrated the depth of opposition to the Bush administration among many in Hollywood, it also underscored the hostility many conservatives feel toward what they term the "cultural elite."

Calls and faxes attacking the gathering's sponsors — some of them anti-Semitic — came in from around the country from people who heard about it on conservative talk radio.

But in Los Angeles, the unexpected buzz caused the event to mushroom from 100 people to 230 — prompting the organizers to find a bigger room at the Beverly Hilton and to turn away many people who wanted to come, organizers said.

Among those expected to attend were Christine Lahti, Aaron Sorkin, Rob Reiner, Heather Thomas, producer Paula Weinstein, and "MASH" television star Mike Farrell.

Director Robert Greenwald, a co-host, joked that organizers would have to thank their detractors — "or put them on retainer."
No mention of OUR rally in this L.A. Times story - What a SURPRISE! - but also no mention of WHICH "stars" actually attended their event either.
