In a demoralizing message to U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq, visiting New York Sen. Hillary Clinton told them that Americans back home are growing increasingly skeptical of President Bush's decision to send them into battle.
Describing two meetings with G.I.s over turkey dinners in Baghdad, Sen. Clinton told reporters later that soldiers wanted to know "how the people at home feel about what we are doing."
Clinton said she told the troops, "Americans are wholeheartedly proud of what you are doing but there are many questions at home about the (Bush) administration's policies."
She also suggested that the U.S. could eventually loose the war in Iraq, contending, "We have to exert all of our efforts militarily, but the outcome is not assured."
Despite her sour pronouncements, the former first lady insisted that the soldiers were just as glad to see her as they were President Bush, whose surprise visit less than 24-hours earlier was greeted with standing ovations.
"It's a positive for the commander-in-chief to visit troops in the field," Clinton told reporters, adding, "the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself."
Speaking from a secure location just over the Kuwaiti border, Mrs. Clinton launched one verbal salvo after another at the White House, arguing that Bush officials had been "obsessed" with getting Saddam Hussein and saying the perception blinded them to the difficulties of deposing his regime.
"The Pentagon tried to make do with as few troops as possible, as light a footprint as they could get away with," Clinton said. "Now, we're playing catchup . . . Unfortunately, I don't think they fully appreciated the conditions we would encounter."
The top Democrat also reprised her charge that the White House is being less than candid when it comes to apprising the American people of the costs of the war.
"The obstacles and problems here are much greater than the administration usually admits to," she said, adding, "Everybody has to be honest."

It's tons more effective to act now than nearer the election date.

"Does treason still exist?" Oh, it exists alright. Problem is that the politicians in Washington refuse to take traitors to task, and until they do, it is rather pointless to concern ourselves with it. I'm not suggesting that we ignore it, just pointing out the futility of our exercises in outrage.

Susan Estrich is being brutally honest about Hillary That's a step in the right direction. I'd like to meet old Susan at a party some fine day. She seems like she knows how to have a good time.

I could not agree with you more! I am so angry at the media that I can barely breathe right now. This is the real gasping for breath that Hillary lies about in her Lying History book! They are never going to tell the truth about her, and because of them Bush is going down in the polls!
You are right, those communist so called journalists are controlling the news and dictating public opinion! They won't expose the Clinton's, they got him and her elected and they will do it again!!!!

A Republican! At least if there is a recall movement, we would have at least a level field at the SECSTATE level, although, Ill bet the NYSC is stacked with liberals..

I owe RaceBannon for that pic.

"It had EVERYTHING to do with undermining the administration as well as their superior officers, creating doubt about their mission, and creating an illusion that there is a lack of support back home" Absolutely right. It is hard to believe anyone could be so shameless in displaying such evil in plain view. She insults the people with her affront to our intelligence. Of course, I guess she thinks we're all as stupid as the average person who would vote for her hateful, lying, traitorous @$$!

Yes, Susan is a 'sloppy hottie', and I mean that as a compliment. She can come over to my house mostly any night. Bring the spirits, Susie.
Seriously, she's one of the GOOD Dems! I know. She's a very nice human, and is very intelligent. I really do love her, she should come over to the right side, eventually.

>>>>What I am saying is that this must not be the efforts of a few. I am calling for action by the entire Free Republic community as well as every single person we can contact throughout the media, friends and family.
I posted an initial response about treason from my judge/military friend. He shot it over to two other colleagues with questions about gross negligence, censure and options for citizen action.
Another freeper mentioned recall. Another freeper pinged Congressman Billbob. We need some answers before we can take action. In the meantime, MeeknMing and jimbo(?) posted email contacts to write Senate/Congress and Ethics.
None of us want to let this go. This is dangerous. I'm bookmarking this thread. Take note of my freeper name and I will do the same as with yours. As soon as information starts to come in that we can run with, we are running with it.

"even he could only manage to say on the air that the troops were 'relatively excited' to see her." Loosely translated, their superior officers had to get them to settle down and stop cackling at the Hillary jokes that were making their way through the group just prior to her arrival, while even they were having trouble stifling guffaws.

Would you please ping me with any threads or action lists you might be developing? I'll double my cold medicine if I have to, in order to write my letter of condemnation against this whore who speaks to our military this way.
Is there a way to get the word to Rush? or Hannity? Anybody know?

Here is a copy of the form letter I sent to the Ohio Senator:
Sir,
As a retired military member, I find the statements by Sen. Hilary Clinton in Iraq to be undermining of the efforts by President Bush and the joint military forces in the Middle East and around the world fighting for this country and the possible liberty of millions of oppressed people around the world. I respectfully request an action taken to censure her be accomplished as this is not an area she should be in talking down the president's policies, along with the wishes of a congress that represented the people with a vote to use force to topple Saddam from his position that was a threat to us and the world, thus making the polocies a national action. Her actions are a direct attack upon the morale and could possibly create a detrimental and dangerous atmosphere for the troops in the region. Furthermore, she should be investigated for the possibility of treason for the undermining action. Thank you for your time.

Howdy LC!!
I spotted this earlier today and it's chapped me raw and had me in a foul mood all day! How DARE she??!!! That b*tch is evil.
I hope you're right that not many even knew she was there. She's gotten little coverage on the TV news, near as I can tell. As you said, our President is still getting LOTS of coverage of his trip to BOOST the troops' morale.
The majority of us can honestly say..

I didn't think you were shouting at me, I asked a question twice and thought it was my mistake! LOL! Hey, what a perfect opportunity for you to FINALLY learn about the NY constitution. And I'll bet you are. Isn't FR a great place? Thanks so much for searching. If this was a WI thing, I'd be doing exactly the same as you. Love this place.
To: thesummerwind
Words don't describe what this women is adequately. Even if it were true that the public were withdrawing support for this effort, what possible good could it do for a US Senator to demoralize the troops by telling them about it.
Hillary Clinton is unfit for public office. She's unfit to be a mother. She's unfit to do much of anything except run around removing rod-kill from outback sections of Arkansas dirt roads.
To: Husker24
