I don't know if this has been addressed before, but can this "discussion" be extended beyond 30 hours if the majority decides to do it?

When they force toe senate Dims to REALLY fillibuster There is a real filibuster going on. The "real" filibuster you are referring to seems to be wanting them to talk, talk, talk...well,they don't have to do that unless they just want to. As long as there aren't the votes for cloture, the nomination is stalled, regardless of whether or not they chose to hold the floor.

Yes, this is the Dem beta hour. Schumer should have just stayed up all night. He is pretty good in the pit.

Frist said yesterday they might go over 30 hrs

No they didn't .. the founders expected the electorate to be smart enough to figure it out when they had made a mistake and elected an idiot (see: Gray Davis). What the dems have done is DUMB DOWN the electorate so the dems could continue to get away with their corrupt actions.
What happened .. HOMESCHOOLING!! Talk Radio .. FOX News!!

I console myself with the thought that future historians will look at todays Dems and say "What were those putzes thinking? Were they even thinking?"
