Yes they can make them longer if they choose to do so from what I understand.

I don't know if this has been addressed before, but can this "discussion" be extended beyond 30 hours if the majority decides to do it? About an hour ago, Lindsay Graham suggested that 30 hours wasn't enough. It would be nice to see them all follow through with that.
