Scotty Baesler will probably run on the Democratic side, or in an interesting turn of events, since that district covers Woodford county also, in attempt to salvage a political spot out of defeat for Governor, I would not be too shocked if Ben Chandler does run for Ernie's congressional seat. Owen will be the front runner next year for the Rats in the senate race against Jim Bunning. Neither probably would win though. Not sure about the GOP in that district, but if history serves correctly, it will most likely be one of the State Representatives or State Senators from that area--that was how Fletcher got elected--when he first beat State Senator Ernesto Scorsone in open election in 1998. Possibilities include state rep. Katie Stine (R-Lexington).. The wheels turn slowly, but what is coming is a major shift in Kentucky from Democrats and liberals to Republicans, that has been in the making since Snyder ran for Congress in 64 (in the seat now held by Anne Northrup)..

seems like a trend down. The national offices go Republican. Next the statewide offices go Republican. Last the local offices go republican.

From there the "nonpartisan" offices go conservative. (like schoolboards and commissioners)

I meant 10 of 13 appellate courts are Republican appointee majority, 1 is democratic, and 2 are tied.

Yes, well, you know for the first time after the 2002 elections, a plurality of all offices nationwide are Reps.

Massive shift right, folks -- this country is taking itself back from people and groups that would destroy it, both from within and without.

You bet. Great place to hear guys like Montgomery/Gentry, Colin Ray, Sawyer Brown et al. Nice little beach for the grandkids, lots of service tattos and service hats, plenty of beverages. Our kind of joint.

You only got 1/4 of a mile driveway ? No wonder you can be the plower. LOL

I'm NOT bragging; heck, I'm complaining ... our driveway is 1,107 feet long and that's NOT up to the garage, just up to our drive in front of the house. And my husband isn't getting any younger either, so this year, he's off ladder duty.I refused to hold the ladder and pray, as he cleaned the gutters, ever again. :-)
