To his credit, when I wrote him a note telling him what my son had told me, he wrote a letter apologizing and sent son a t-shirt. I didn't hold a grudge. Don't know if son did or not.

I met him in '76 (I think it was) and got an autograph on his book and he was very kind to me (I was 13) so who knows, maybe it was an apperation?
