Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

She cited examples of mistranslations and security breaches within the FBI's language division, where translators with Top Secret clearance interpret sensitive terror-related information for agents.

Considering as we've been saying of late, that we still have Clinton leftovers,ie: George Tenet! (I'm sure AG could really give the scoop on this commie!) we know there are big holes in security. Breeches at our labs, nuke plants etc. Infiltrators at Gitmo, etc. If the feds were smart they start hiring Freeper's, being we prove our patritoism and do not get paid one penny to do it!!!

Australia's Qantas May Ban Bathroom Lines
By JAMIE TARABAY

SYDNEY, Australia (AP)--Australia's Qantas Airways said Wednesday that U.S. authorities are now banning passengers from gathering near restrooms and other places on flights to America _ an order the Australian government thinks might be impractical.

Commercial flights across the Pacific Ocean from Australia to the United States' west coast are among the world's longest.

``The U.S. Transport Security Administration are now requiring that passengers on flights to the U.S. are not to congregate in groups in any areas of the aircraft, especially around the lavatories,'' a Qantas spokeswoman said.

Australia's Transport Minister John Anderson, who is also deputy prime minister, described the ban as ``a little bit hard to handle.''

Qantas said passengers were being told about the new rules.

``Qantas pilots are making pre-flight announcements to this effect and cabin crew are monitoring passengers during the flight. We do not expect this to be a significant issue at all, and it only applies to flights to the United States,'' the airline said in a statement released Wednesday.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a Qantas official would not disclose whether the airline had received the directive straight from the U.S. Transport Security Administration or from Australian aviation authorities.

TSA discourages lavatory lines on planes

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON -- Airlines have been asked to tell passengers they shouldn't congregate near aircraft lavatories because of security concerns, the Transportation Security Administration said Wednesday.

The agency in mid-December sent an advisory to airlines asking them to inform passengers that they should not gather in groups on airplanes, especially near the restroom, said spokesman Darrin Kayser.

"It formalizes the idea that we don't want people congregating in the airplane," Kayser said.

The Australian airline Qantas said in a statement that its pilots are making pre-flight announcements about gathering near restrooms and cabin crew are monitoring passengers during the flight. "We do not expect this to be a significant issue at all, and it only applies to flights to the United States," the airline said.

35 GIs Injured in Iraq Mortar Attack

Wednesday January 7, 2004 10:31 PM

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Thirty-five U.S. soldiers were wounded Wednesday in a mortar attack on a U.S. base west of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

Six mortar rounds impacted about 6:45 p.m. at Logistical Base Seitz, the military said in a statement. The wounded soldiers were from the 3rd Corps Support Command.

``The wounded soldiers were given first-aid and have been evacuated from the site for further medical treatment,'' the statement said.

The military didn't provide any further details on the condition of the injured soldiers or of the attack.

BA 223 over Vermont now heading towards eastern NY State Albany area. It's fairly close to it's usual inbound pattern, sometimes they alter their flightpath due to weather.

AF over Idaho heading SW, also normal flight path.

This is from November 2003. It came up with a google search for Rose + Chemical + Terror. It was only available in cache, so the direct link won't work.

Chemical terror plot foiled in Britain-paper
2003-11-22 01:48:46 GMT (Reuters)
LONDON, Nov 22 (Reuters) - The Financial Times newspaper reported on Saturday that an attempt by a London-based terror group to buy half a tonne of toxic chemicals was foiled after the supplier became suspicious and alerted police.

It said the group had attempted to buy 500 kgs (1,102 lb) of the toxin saponin from Amersham Biosciences late last year but the sale was refused after staff became concerned about the size of the order.

A spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police told Reuters on Saturday that police were "not prepared to discuss the matter" at this time.

The Financial Times quoted experts as saying the chemical could have been mixed with another toxin, such as ricin, and smeared in public places, causing widespread poisoning.

Saponin is sometimes used in laboratories to enhance the transmission of molecules through biological cell walls, while ricin is highly toxic, with less than one milligram sufficient to kill an adult.

Lennart Arlinger, business development director of Amersham, said it was possible the would-be purchasers were looking to use saponin "as an enhancer of the efficacy of a biological weapon".

He told the paper the order was so large that it "raised a red flag" and encouraged further inquiries.

The order was refused and the company informed police in Britain and Sweden, where Amersham handled the order, he added.

"we are capable, right now, of destroying an American city in its entirety."

Sure? Is this EOM or Baghdad Bob?

Lying and exaggeration are the hallmark of this group. They are deluded.

Just remember -- in 1993 they were still using the car bomb. In 2001, they had box cutters and commercial airliners. Today, against their most reviled enemy, there best ordinance is a suicide teenager strapped to some C-4.

I remain unconvinced that they have any WMD that poses a threat of being a city killer. At best, they may have some WMD cocktails for limited use in subways and such.

The notion that 4-5 teams of terrorists are driving around Jersey with a suitcase nuke is retarded. If they had one, and it was here. They would put it in a car, in morning rush, drive it to the NYC with millions of other commuters, and turn the key.

They got nothing. Zip, Nada, bukus. In 2001 they were clever and used our commercial technology against us with old fashioned brute force.

And here's another thing. Those sleeper agents they claim to have. They are probably so damn comfortable living the good life here in the USA, they may never wakeup when they get the call.

ll of this is not to say that these evil little-minded piss-ants from the eleventh Century don't pose any threat. They do. Hell, if they understood anything about our culture, if they read anything other than there own warped interpretations of the Koran, they would know that suicide attacks, random shootings, and sniper attacks would be just as devastating. (Witness the psychological effect of the sniper shootings in DC/VA/MD).

Of course, living in visual distance to the DC monuments, I hope I am correct.
