I knew someone was in that area but I couldn't remember who it was. My brain has basically quit working the last few days.
KFI just reported the two San Diego fires are close to merging.
Also reported that foreign journalists are all over LA to cover these fires. Wonder if they do a better job then our cable news channels?

now broadcasting from Palomar mountain. Paradise fire is heading towards cedar fire (they may merge) very calm, not much wind there so far. Where she's standing, heading towards observatory. (south grade road) looking bakc to south, seeing smoke there from cedar fire, but also seeing the smoke blowing from the paradise fire. no flames visible from where they are right now. Reports cedar and paradise fire 5 miles apart earlier today. winds blowing paradise fire into cedar fire. smoke plumes 13K feet high.

"I keep chasing them around but I personally haven't seen arrowhead-is-burning pics" There aren't any TV crews up there, they got kicked out.

KNBC says air support grounded in vicinity of highway 18 due to very high winds along ridge tops.

QUESTION:
I just called someone in Apple Valley who insisted they were not under mandatory evacuation. Can anyone tell me where that information came from? It's my friend's mom and she is stubborn.

A major solar flare
This morning wifey and I both noticed the red, smoke filtered sun as it rose...quite visible were 2 black dots right around center. Weird! I think we actually SAW sunspots, a side benefit of being able to look at a shrouded sun.
