A major solar flare

This morning wifey and I both noticed the red, smoke filtered sun as it rose...quite visible were 2 black dots right around center. Weird! I think we actually SAW sunspots, a side benefit of being able to look at a shrouded sun.

Actually, the storm arrived nearly 12 hours ago. Still showing high levels of incoming energy but gradually declining. Always chance of a new flare occurring.
