A major solar flare

This morning wifey and I both noticed the red, smoke filtered sun as it rose...quite visible were 2 black dots right around center. Weird! I think we actually SAW sunspots, a side benefit of being able to look at a shrouded sun.

I saw those from Orange County on Saturday morning when the smoke was the worst.
