QUESTION:

I just called someone in Apple Valley who insisted they were not under mandatory evacuation. Can anyone tell me where that information came from? It's my friend's mom and she is stubborn.

She should definately be picking out necessary items. Who knows how far this thing will burn before they stop it. The winds are whipping out here in the desert.

I don't think that Apple Valley is being evacuated. I think that the animal shelter there is taking animals from big bear and other areas that are being evacuated.

They are not going to come to her door and ask her nicely. I'm pretty sure it is being broadcast radio, etc. Not a time to be stubborn. I wouldn't want to try to evac from here, wither, but I would rather go and come back to unharmed house than risk my horses who depend on my choices.
