SB County Sheriff, Sgt Dave Caddel -- no arrest of a subject in regards to San Bernardino County Old Fire. The van has not been found or spotted according to SB County Sheriff.
Investigations from SB County Sheriff investigated the report -- the perp has no affiliation with any fire department. He was trying to hitch a ride. Still holding on to him. There is no indication that he had anything to do with the arson fire in San Bernardino.
$50,000 added by head of Stater Bros to find the suspects bringing it to $110,000.
866-346-7632 is the number to call if you spot this suspect or a van matching the description.
REPEAT NO SUSPECT FOR THE FIRES IN CUSTODY!

KNBC has reporters broadcasting from Cedar Glen. Just caught the tail end of the interview when it came up on my computer.

Drudge has a red headline that there was an earthquake near the (SB?) fire - anybody know about it?Earthquake was earlier in the thread. Not significant by California standards. Actually, not very significant at all. 3.6 or 3.7. Earlier one today at 2.8.

Those photos in 1780 were good ones -- very clear and touching. The beautiful little town of Julian!! So sad.

Thank God for our new Governor. I heard earlier that some idiot in our existing government refused an offer of tankers from Canada, Saturday.
Professional goverment officials (Gumby). must complete 300 forms in triplicate before anything is done. Hopefully, Arnold will do things like our business - respond with "YES" and ask for the ETA......

Many of us can't get on the scannerI am only able to get the scanner feed because I paid for a subscription to the site (live365). If you need access to it, it's only $4.95 a month.

I am happy to relay info, but you can't believe how much mundane and unimportant information comes through that scanner. It is much less interesting when all the planes land for the evening. It's only a rare moment that something important or interesting comes through.

Thank You!

We will send a check if JimRob sets something up - we were thinking of the Salvation Army, definitely not the Red Cross, but FR would be WAY preferable. What say you, JimRob?
To: Letitring
I don't know, perhaps. We must protect this place, first, at all costs, imo. If not for Free Republic, folks like me would have zero knowledge of this event, not to mention many others. Perhaps you're right - though I wouldn't mind a list of decent places to donate to in the affected areas. I'm in Tennessee - I'd like to help out a bit, but I don't want to make the mistake of giving to a rogue agency. Any volunteer FD's in the Arrowhead Lake area? Salvation Army? Stuff like that.

I'm posting 98% info on Southern California fires....I'm also keeping watch on arsonists who may be getting the idea of setting fires in other areas.....if they start to do this, it will take away resources needed down in Southern California.....sorry if it's seems irrelevant to So. Calif. fires.
To: sf4dubya
I thought I was posting most of the relevant stuff I'm hearing.

What I don't know about California local geography could fill a book. Call me a geek, but I've been following this on the map for a week. I have the Rand McNally atlas next to me, and my DeLorme map software open on the computer. I almost feel like I could find my way around that area.
This captivates me for some reason.
