Dear Republican, Over the last few months, Laura and I have traveled the country and have been humbled by the enthusiastic support we have been given. Our country has faced many challenges in the last two and half years and we are meeting these challenges at home and abroad. We're defeating the enemies of freedom. And at the same time, we're confronting challenges to build prosperity for our nation and a more compassionate society. Every test has revealed the true character of America. And no one in the world can doubt the spirit and will and strength of the American people. We are meeting the challenges of our time but there is much more to be done and I need your support. Will you join me in these efforts by volunteering for my re-election campaign as a Bush Team Leader? http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ As a Bush Team Leader you will be asked to help by volunteering at local events, hosting your own events, registering new voters, turning out voters on Election Day and more. Most importantly, you will be asked to recruit more Bush Team Leaders to help us win in November 2004. Please sign up to be a part of this important effort today. http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ The challenges we face cannot be met with timid actions or bitter words. They will be overcome with optimism and resolve and confidence in the ideals of America. We are acting to advance human freedom and liberty and making the world and America more secure. We took action to create jobs and get the economy growing again. We acted on principle. You did not send me to this office to mark time. You sent me here to restore dignity and honor to the White House and to help build a safe and prosperous and caring nation. Will you join me in this effort by becoming a Bush Team Leader and volunteer your time? http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ I want to thank you for the work that you will do in the months to come. There is no question in my mind that with your help we are laying the foundation to win a great victory in November of 2004.
P.S. Again, thank you for making my campaign strong at the grassroots level all across the country. I am grateful to the over 300,000 Americans that have contributed to my campaign and the millions more who've signed up on the campaign email list. And I am grateful to everyone that chooses to volunteer in support of this effort. I need you to make certain your friends and family register to vote. I need you to make phone calls, send emails, help organize rallies, put up signs, and get out the vote. I need you to volunteer in my campaign today. |
Another pantload.
That's why there were five co-ordinated bombings in Iraq yesterday by Syrians who snuck into Iraq, and there have been no more attacks here since 9/11.
How long have you been carrying water for the left?
You have their talking points down pat.
Yes, it is good, because THEY are changing, not us.
So they are no longer LIBERAL. So now they are MODERATE/CONSERVATIVE school teacher friends. You were not clear whether your friends were moving to the right or Bush was moving to the left.
I have to wonder why people are shifting like this. I just think it isn't because GWB doing is that great of a job its just that the democrats are such radical leftist that alot of their supporters are just sick of them.
How about the Alien and Sedition Acts? ;)
The other day I was reading that John Podesta started a new think-tank, attempting for this think-tank to the the "Heritage Foundation" of the left-wing. Podesta said that he was interested in the flat-tax approach, which I find hilarious. Podesta realizes that liberals cannot win the next election by bashing the President and that some fresh "new" ideas have to come to the table in order to convince the swing-voters to support them.
With "Voter Motor" and the fact that illegals can get drivers licenses the voter rolls are no longer for citizens but all licensed drivers.
Yes our eceonomy is being impacted. Wages are being driven down, unemployment is up and not coming down. States are paying huge sums for the education and medical needs of illegals. 41.5% of illegals in California make use of major welfare programs while only 14.2% of native Californians do. Also Texas spends $1.03 Billon a year for education alone for the education of illegals.
Yes 9-11 had a huge impact on the economy but alas that isn't the bases of this conversation. Yes the economy is coming back for some but try to tell that to those who work in the trades, i.e., construction, warehousing and many others that have been taken over by illegals.
I support Bush in many ways but his handling or lack of handling of this crushing problem speaks volumes.
I think that these numbers are even being downplayed, because I honestly do believe that conservatives are a silent majority on most college campuses. Unlike liberals, conservatives aren't loud about their beliefs and generally do not go out and protest. I think that the media tends to create a false perception that college campuses are hotbeds of radical leftist activity when they really aren't.
The funny thing, is that it looks like most leftist professors at universities (mainly the Ivies), are falling more out of touch with the general student population than ever.
In the battle of ideas, there is no doubt that conservatives are winning. This is why people like Podesta are starting think-tanks, because they realize that place such as Heritage, American Enterprise, and Family Research Council, are being more effective in the battle of ideas than what was originally thought.
There's been a time when there weren't thousands of Texans out of work?
Preach on, sister!
In the history of the United States, our borders have never been closed, which I imagine is the only solution that you will find acceptable...doing that is impossible, it would bring down our economy, and destroy our freedoms. Using the armed forces to close them is unlawful, as it violates the Posse Comitatus Act, if we feel it necessary to violate that act, then we MUST declare war on Mexico. No way.
"With "Voter Motor" and the fact that illegals can get drivers licenses the voter rolls are no longer for citizens but all licensed drivers."
That's California's problem, not the nation's.
"Yes our eceonomy is being impacted. Wages are being driven down, unemployment is up and not coming down."
You don't know history, do you?
Can you name one period of recession in the history of the US that we have never recovered?
Or are you so naive to think that ecomomies continually grow, never adjusting themselves?
"States are paying huge sums for the education and medical needs of illegals."
Because State politicians are enacting one after the other program entitling aliens to benefits...how is Bush responsible for that?
"41.5% of illegals in California make use of major welfare programs while only 14.2% of native Californians do."
I have a problem with 100% pf those people having access to my money...why don't you?
You make it seem as if somehow the illegals are doing something wrong...wake up, the problem is the fact that the programs exist, not the legal status of the people abusing them, nor the percentage!
By the way, how come no one ever oncludes in the formula the billions of dollars saved on lowered costs to the users facilitated by the lower wages earned by immigrants?
In your naive world, the Feds are reponsible for every problem faced by the States, not so.
California is one of the largest economies in the world and yes what effects Calfiornia effects the rest of the nation. The vast majority of the costs carried by the states are "federally mandated" so yes the federal government carries a huge responsibility for this massive problem.
You don't seem to be concerned about the cost of immigration, I am. Here in Texas we spent last year $1.03 Billion for the education of illegal immigrants alone, don't even mention the cost of medical, housing, food, etc.
I am not anti-immigration but it must be brought under control. There are limits to what this country can do and it would appear we are approaching the limits.
Why wouldn't I want to damage neocons everywhere. They are every bit as much the enemy as are the liberals. Moreso, because at least the liberals have enough honor to stab you in the chest and be upfront about it.
A Republican congress can and will fend off a liberal democrat president, but will do nothing to halt a liberal republican who is spending like an out of control teen with her first credit card.
Bush isn't the worst president we've ever had, but that's not a reason to ever vote for him again.
Mornin' ! ...Wow ! This thread has been movin' !!
Have a cup while you Freep !

These missives only go to previous donors and/or volunteers. Mail merge would be quite doable.

I hope so. It's just that conservatives have gotten screwed by Republicans in the past so I'm not holding my breath.
