President Bush's Message to the Grassroots: "I Need You"
Bush Team Leaders ^ | 10/28/03 | President George W. Bush

Posted on 10/28/2003 1:09:13 PM PST by Marcus Alonzo Hanna

Dear Republican,

Over the last few months, Laura and I have traveled the country and have been humbled by the enthusiastic support we have been given.

Our country has faced many challenges in the last two and half years and we are meeting these challenges at home and abroad. We're defeating the enemies of freedom. And at the same time, we're confronting challenges to build prosperity for our nation and a more compassionate society.

Every test has revealed the true character of America. And no one in the world can doubt the spirit and will and strength of the American people.

We are meeting the challenges of our time but there is much more to be done and I need your support. Will you join me in these efforts by volunteering for my re-election campaign as a Bush Team Leader?

http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/

As a Bush Team Leader you will be asked to help by volunteering at local events, hosting your own events, registering new voters, turning out voters on Election Day and more. Most importantly, you will be asked to recruit more Bush Team Leaders to help us win in November 2004. Please sign up to be a part of this important effort today.

The challenges we face cannot be met with timid actions or bitter words. They will be overcome with optimism and resolve and confidence in the ideals of America.

We are acting to advance human freedom and liberty and making the world and America more secure. We took action to create jobs and get the economy growing again.

We acted on principle. You did not send me to this office to mark time. You sent me here to restore dignity and honor to the White House and to help build a safe and prosperous and caring nation. Will you join me in this effort by becoming a Bush Team Leader and volunteer your time?

http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/

I want to thank you for the work that you will do in the months to come. There is no question in my mind that with your help we are laying the foundation to win a great victory in November of 2004.

Sincerely,

George W. Bush

P.S. Again, thank you for making my campaign strong at the grassroots level all across the country. I am grateful to the over 300,000 Americans that have contributed to my campaign and the millions more who've signed up on the campaign email list. And I am grateful to everyone that chooses to volunteer in support of this effort. I need you to make certain your friends and family register to vote. I need you to make phone calls, send emails, help organize rallies, put up signs, and get out the vote. I need you to volunteer in my campaign today.

No, I am not; but I am saying that the "conservative" were not and are not the ONLY people who worked like that to get Bush elected, a fact few "conservatives" on here will ever acknowledge.

Exactly, Howlin. I worked hard for Bush in 2000 and he's done nothing but inspire me to do the same thing again. People here line up their issues as if they all carry the same weight, they line them up as if there is no political reality in which to navigate. But I suppose not acknowledging these things is the reason why no more "suitable" conservative ever emerges.

I've got LIBERAL school teacher friends asking me for Bush stuff for their cars! They're voting for Bush in 2004!

And this is good? I guess by pandering to Teddy Kennedy has the NEA types thinking that GWB is one of them.

Unfortunately, (and despite the character flaw of being a lifelong 'Rat, I love my sister dearly), she is one of those people who doesn't pay close attention to what is going on, and just skims the surface. Just this weekend, she was saying that Jeb Bush shouldn't have intervened in Terri's case. She wasn't aware that Terri DIDN'T have a living will, that she WASN'T in a coma, and that her husband has refused basic care for her dignity since 1998. Once she heard more of the real story, she changed her opinion. For some of these people, it is a matter they simply do NOT get the full story from the alphabet media.

"...we've got a year to convince Dubyuh not to follow his daddy's footsteps."

"That's sounds like a threat to repeat the big screw-up."

Not at all...Bush, Sr. lost becuz he took the RightWing fer granted. If he'd continued the Reagan Revolution, Bill clinton wouldda never happened.

"Get over the stuff; it's counterproductive."

Get over WHAT?! Demanding some accountability from our elected leaders? I like Dubyuh for a lot of reasons, but his domestic spending proclivities are out of control...having a bunch of Bushbots telling him everything's peachy-keen ain't helpin' him or the country one iota, imho.

You and I agree for the most part on this. I just don't think threatening to bail or anything resembling that is the way at this point in our history to get what we want. It's to work to elect more conservatives to Congress, and to organize our folks to make their views well known to the ones we've already got.

I personally don't think GW has the brains to decide what to wear on a dialy basis, let alone be a "master strategist" in the field of warfare.

Oh now I see your agenda.

"The conservative consideration in regards to the prosecution of the Clintons is in doing so, sure, the two perps would sit in jail, but the whole nation could have become a ruin in the process."

How so?! I don't think the HildaBeast couldda been directly linked to anything that wouldda stuck in court, but you cannot convince me or anyone with half-a-brain that no one--not a single person--in the Clinton Administration committed a crime. Nobody sold nuclear secrets to Communist China...no one from the IRS illegally targeted conservative organizations...no one took illegal donations from foreignors. According to the spineless, gutless John Ashcroft, Slick Willie Clinton and the Most Corrupt Administration in American history was squeaky-clean and/or ABOVE THE LAW!! You actually believe that, CJ?!

"President Bush never campaigned on a platform of vengeance and prosecution, hence your hopes were merely manufactured delusions."

So now it's a delusion to believe the man you trust to elect to the head of the Executive Branch will actually execute the laws he was hired to uphold?! That ain't vengeance, it's called JUSTICE!!

If he'd continued the Reagan Revolution, Bill clinton wouldda never happened.

Bush did nothing that justifies eight+ years of the Clinton (who are still a major threat). Whoever didn't vote to reelect Bush is part of the problem. You know that, unless you are in denial.

Get over WHAT?! Demanding some accountability from our elected leaders?

Demand all you want, but don't get weird on us. Never allow the Democrats to gain power. Is that too difficult to understand? What good is demand accountability when it bites you in the butt?

"92 was the last hurrah for the monopoly of the liberal media and JMO, but it seems that some on FR want to carry on that torch the liberal media had in 92."

I don't disagree with you here, Dane. FWIW, I have high hopes for the next year, culminating in a humongous landslide win fer Dubyuh next November with coattails enuff to bring in a filibuster-proof GOP-majority and a much larger majority in the House. However, I believe this groundswell of support fer Dubyuh and the GOP will not be achieved by acting like DemonRAT-lite. It won't take a Lib'ral Media to point out that nondiscretionary domestic spending has grown more rapidly under Bush and the GOP majorities in both houses than it did when Clinton and the DemonRATS controlled the show. If the GOP squanders this historic opportunity we've got between now and November 2004, it'll be becuz they lost the RightWing by pandering to the middle!!

No one claimed there were no crimes committed in the Clinton White House, just that there is a valid conservative view toward wanting our self-governance to continue rather than drag it down.

Consider the fact that there were Democrats who wanted to impeach President Reagan for supposed high crimes and misdemeanors related to Iran-Contra. I am not a 'let the chips fall where they may' kind of person, but rather believe there are larger considerations at play, such as survival as a nation.
