Before I log off, I wanted to thank you all for your tireless work and unselfish service.
Your effort has been a valuable asset for many of us without local coverage.
Well done...

*grin* Seeing as that I've been watching flames most of the last few days, I could hardly /not/ talk about it - but having a news-only thread is a good thing, too.
Of course, my replies over here are horribly slow now... ;)

Are you staying safe, woody? I am fine, I live in San Clemente and I can throw a rock into the Pacific from where I live. Thank you for asking. I have a good friend who lives in Rancho Bernardo, who is now holed up in a hotel in La Jolla, but his house is fine.

On a lighter note.........I went to In 'N Out today and had a double double Animal Style. I asked the cleancut young fellow at the window what a Gorilla Style was and he just laughed. Said there was no such thing. So now you're going to have to tell us, even if it means you will have to kill us afterward. (Thanks for that link BTW.....what a super burger!!!)
To: SCalGal
Where is Porter Ranch in relation to where you live? They just reported it has been ordered evacuated. Since they were reporting from the Simi Valley fire I figured it must be in that area.

But that is because they are so locked into programming to the level of a 3 year old with ADD. Actually, the above accurately describes most of the producers I've worked with.
To: BurbankKarl
they are launching LA City Fire Helicopter 6 to the assignment
To: Ladypixel
I think it was an outstanding idea you had to have a news only thread. Then the rest of us don't feel guilty about talking instead of reporting only.

>> I live in San Clemente.
Are you familiar with a dentist named Steve Blume? I was stationed with him in the Navy back in the late 1960's. I recall he was from San Clemente, and went to USC dental school.

My goof, I meant next time you go - ask for Gorilla Fries.
French fries with grilled onions, two slices for cheese and In N Out dressing.
To: okimhere
Wish they would bring In and Out burgers into Oklahoma -- sure do miss them!

restornu is the freeper to thank. He found it(and other maps) and posted them in post #1845.
Yes, I am also very grateful to restornu, that map is very informative.
