long inning for Cont. Can Rivero come out in the 8th again??
To: Molly Pitcher
Hey, Molly! All this wind in Yankee Stadium remind me of another ill wind for the Yankees...7th game of the 2001 World Series, when some wind and a few sprinkles kicked up at a certain ballpark in the desert...

That CBS scorebaord is pretty good. Today is the first time I saw it. The "Game Stats" tab is cool.
1 out. Ortiz on 1st.

Millar flies out to right. One out. Garcia almost made me look like a genius -- I earlier said that Dellucci would be coming in for his defense. Fortunately he caught it. Now that the game is tied, Garcia will probably stay in if his part of the order comes up.

Base Hit!
To: fhayek
Trying to steal third with Giambi and Williams up would be a mistake in my opinion. He can score from second on a hit now, why risk the baserunner? Well, from my perspective (and if I were in Torre's shoes)- NY was ahead by two and Boston have their backs absolutely on the wall (and more so than other teams would in a similar situation- they've got this psychological history thing added). You've got a good runner in Soriano and only one out. You're playing at home. The worst that can happen to you is Soriano gets thrown out, you lose the game later and come back tomorrow to play game seven. But there are many positive things that could happen. The catcher and third baseman would have max pressure on them to execute a bang-bang play perfectly. If the catcher elects not to throw, your man takes third. If the catcher throws wild, you get a run. If the third baseman bobbles the ball, Soriano is safe- if the 3rd baseman lets the ball past him, you get a run. You also rattle the catcher, the pitcher and the whole opposing team.
That was my reasoning anyway.

This game is going to go four hours easily. Still only 1 out in the top of the seventh. We're already approaching the three-hour mark.

Heredia coming in. Trot is up. 1 out.
To: discostu
The sox runners hold up. Heredia (sp?) coming in...

Another nice battle. THis has been a great series.
Base hit, runners at 1st and 2nd, 1 out. Sox have been stranding runners too often, this will be a grand time to break the habit.
