"My reaction upon learning that Boone was going to the Yanks was that he's not a NY pressure-cooker kind of guy."Good take...
I have rarely seen a Major Leaguer taking wild hacks at air the way Boone has. If the Yanks don't advance against the Bosox, Steinbrenner will NOT re-sign him next year. He showed nothing at the plate since the Yanks got him.

"It's Torre strategery."LOL -- Then I concur with losing this sixth game. Makes a 7th game win all that much sweeter.

I hope Pedro has the brass to take the abuse tomorrow night. I don't believe in karma except in Baseball. Pedro was out of line to try and hit Garcia and set the tone for that entire game- made his own batters skittish. A very selfish move. I like his cockiness- but he is a hothead.

Pedro pitches best when he's p!ssed off. He'll be plenty mad tomorrow!
To: freebilly
I don't want him mad- I want him focused! The problems start when he gets mad.

You're right, Walton is loony, but to an extent that is the point he's trying to make about the NBA; it's loony. I think he believes the game has changed so much as to no longer be anything resembling basketball. He laughs derisively at the the guys making millions who can't seem to motivate themselves to run up and down the court.
Another funny part of Walton's 'schtick' is his 'straight man,' the big shaved-headed white guy. That guy will make the most inane comment, and Walton will give the "Jane, you ignorant slut" routine. He's infinitely more entertaining than the game itself. In fact, I won't watch an NBA game where Walton is absent. No fun otherwise.

I'll chalk it up to different tastes in what I want out of an analyst.
FWIW, I can't handle any of the ABC/ESPN/TNT crews. I'll stick with Jim Paschke and John McGlocklin (the Bucks' TV crew).

Roger will do it and Pedro will choke! Er - trust me! Any longtime Yankee fan and baseball historian, knows there is only one conclusion to this series.
Roger will do it, and Predo will choke.
Anything less goes against decades of Yankee and Red Sox history. Trust me!

That is too cryptic for me! Lost for whom?? The Yankees?? Probably not...Ya know, I can't stand Pedro, and 1 reason I want the Sox to win is so HE can stand in the batters' box! See if he can take it!!

Tonight is when the Boston dream of exorcising the Curse of teh Bambino ends! The crowd will be all over Pedro and teh Yankees can beat him anyway. Meanwhile, Rocket will be fired up for one more ring.
And I understand that if Pedro hits anyone, Mayor Bloomberg will attempt to have him prosecuted. He can't go through a game without hitting anyone because he's the biggest headhunter in baseball.
Go Yankees.

I think Pedro needs to appologize for headhunting Karim Garcia and starting the incident in the first place.
I wonder who he'll hit tonight. He's teh biggest headhunter in baseball.

No argument about the network line up for NBA crews. I've seen McGlocklin a few times, but can't say that he made an impression. I remember him as a player though. Great shooter.
