The chairman of the New Mexico Republican Party said on Saturday that Donald Trump will win the states five electoral college votes in the presidential election next week.
What do you think the presidents chances in New Mexico on Tuesday?, Matt Boyle, Breitbarts Washington political editor, asked New Mexico GOP Chairman Steve Pearce on Sirius XMs Breitbart News Saturday.
The president called about ten days ago to ask that exact question, Pearce said. I told him, Sir, youre going to win on election day. Our job is keeping the win for you, keeping them from cheating their way into defeating the president.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump in New Mexico by eight points, 48 percent to 40 percent.
The polls do have the president down anywhere from six to ten [points in New Mexico], but I will tell you , we have three million total contacts, 2.1 million phone calls, 900,000 doors knocked since January of this year, Pearce added.
A lot of those doors since August have been Democrat doors. Ive knocked many of those places personally. Theyre not usually hospitable to Republicans. So I was somewhat nervous when I would ask our door knocking teams, Hows it going out there in this area? Oh fine, theyre inviting us in. Theyre wanting to look at the literature. They want to know about our judges. They say theyre voting for Trump, and theyre just trying to figure out how far down the ballot to go voting Republicans.
When you hear that from lifelong Democrats here in the state, in the numbers that our door knocking teams are hearing, Im just telling you, the polls are not correct.

This is the GOP we're talking about. There's always a good chance that any GOP official would say 'In good conscience I cannot support or vote for Trump so I cast my ballot proudly for Joe Biden'
Those solar panels were damaged by hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Another solar field designed to withstand hurricanes went undamaged:
Update: After going through more NOAA imagery, I found some good news. The giant solar field built by TSK Solar (originally falsely said “Canadian Solar”) (below) came out relatively unscathed after facing harsh winds from Irma and Maria. These panels are specifically designed to outlast hurricanes. Each panel is built several meters off the ground to avoid floods and reinforced to withstand winds of category 5 hurricanes (156mph).
Solar panels can be built to withstand hail, too.
Have you seen the open oil/tar disposal pit owned by former governor Bill Richardson?
It’s probably a 640 acres of unknown depth.
Whatever you put in would never be found and would never float up (as water is heavier than the oil).
I’ve been waiting on it to burn for a decade.
I would hope so. But you assume they would ever be built correctly.
And they still kill all the vegetation around them.

Just once could you post something positive?
You aren’t looking hard enough today. You’ve cherry-picked a post. As for being for Biden and the DEMs (I can’t prove I voted for Trump and you know it), I have a lot of money on the line for FR should Trump win this election. And that amount is not trivial should he happen to also win MN (a bet I made a month ago).
If you say so. Every single post I’ve ever seen you make is pessimistic for Trump. Every single one.
Agreed. CatOwner is a total Eeyore.
I’m not an Eeyore but New Mexico in the Trump column is hard to believe. If it happens it will be a bonus as it will also mean Trump won other states he didn’t win last time.
Sounds like a person just doing their job properly on election day to me.

Never said you were an Eeyore. I was specifically referring to somebody else. New Mexico would be a big pull but with the energy industry comprising a large share of the state economy you never know.
I was astonished by the amount of oil and gas exploration going on in South East NM last time I drove through there. The lines of drilling equipment trucks on the highways was like rush hour in DC.
I hear you Andy! I’m up here in PA and it’s hard to believe the Dims want to eradicate the energy industry for some pie in the sky nonsense. Millions of good jobs down the tubes.
You’re right in that Lujan has progressively gotten more disliked. During her early press conferences, she was practically bouncing in her seat she was that excited about her totalitarian lockdown policies. You could tell by her body language that she was loving it. She alone can drive a lot of voters to Trump. The other odd thing about her policies at this point are that the COVID announcements are being driven and released by the Human Services Department, not the Department of Health.
They do need maintenance, but so does everything.
The million gallons of Agent Orange they dump on the land is my larger concern.
