The fight isn’t going Clinton’s way

This fight isnt going as planned. The conventional wisdom, as August drew to a close, was that Donald Trumps campaign was in free-fall. Some of Hillary Clintons supporters had even begun to anticipate a landslide like 1964, when Lyndon Johnson crushed Barry Goldwater by 61-to-38 percent.
What a difference a couple of working weeks have made. Slumped in the Democratic corner, her haggard visage being fanned by anxious trainers, is Clinton, candidate of the status quo. Impatiently bouncing off the ropes on the other side of the ring is the overweight, orange-featured personification of very, very risky change. The status quos margin of advantage suddenly looks much smaller than anyone thought in the dog days of summer.
In the 13 most recent national polls, Clinton is ahead in just seven, and by margins of between one and five percentage points. The latest LA Times poll has Trump ahead by six points. Even the closely watched New York Times/CBS News poll of likely voters has the race tied, taking into account the substantial numbers of votes likely to go to the Libertarian and Green candidates....

With the entirety of the Washington Press Corps behind her she would have been quite formidable in 2004, make no mistake. The internet had not yet come into its own at that stage. It was nowhere near as pervasive as it is today, and the main stream media still held a monopoly on the dissemination of information. Although it could be seen that the monopoly was in trouble, it was still, in many respects, intact.Internet was what did in Kerry in 04', it wasn't the press emailing around all those goofy pictures of him and putting them online. Drudge had been around for years by then.
She also has/had quite a bit of support on the Left Coast, which should not be forgotten...
She was supposed to have plenty of Hollywood support this year, it largely went to Sanders. Dean or some other more liberal alternative to Clinton would have their support in 04'.

My point stands. Her best shot at ever attaining the Presidency would have been, in a world where 9-11 never happened, in 2004.
The problem with such a hypothetical is that Bush the Younger would have been a very different type of president had 9/11 not happened. He might have been pretty strong in 2004.
I'm of the mind that 2004 was a bit early to be thinking about Clintons again, and eight years as FLOTUS combined with a half-term in the Senate (Obama was a VERY special case) would not be enough to have her qualified under the old standards.

You point out some valid specifics. I think it can be summed up thusly: Gore was a mental light weight. Nixon had the better plan and more complete package.

The Chinese have the same fear that a lot of reporters/reporterettes have. Trump is not a politician, therefore no one can be sure of who he will appoint as his aides.
Since he’s not a “Washington person,” he is likely to leave all the insiders with no contacts in his administration, no leaks, leaving all of them on the outside looking in!

If Trump is “overweight” then Shrillary is a FAT lard ass.... I’m certain that Shrillary has a higher BMI than Trump....
They have no shame trying to demean and belittle Trump in ways they would never dream of doing to Shrillary, even when she deserves it so much more.

“Overweight” means strong and healthy.
The snews media wants everyone 100 lbs underweight, and on a zillion prescription poisons.

63 and 236 pounds is about right.
Any less at his age and he is in constant danger should he catch a virus.

Those early paintings showed women nude that were pretty large. It was a sign of wealth.
