Now that he has very likely secured the GOP presidential nomination, Donald Trump has turned his attention to a running mate. Trump brought Ben Carson on board to help him decide on a VP nominee, but don't count on it being Carson. The former Republican presidential candidate announced Thursday he was taking himself out of the running. When asked who Trump was considering, Carson reportedly mentioned a wide candidate pool that could include Democrats.
Carson told The Wall Street Journal, "We would consider people who are Americans and who put America first." If that includes a Democratic name, the chances of Trump bringing together an increasingly divided GOP party seem almost impossible.
In fact, who Trump ends up choosing will be important, considering Paul Ryan's remarks about needing the presumptive presidential nominee to unify the GOP. It's entirely possible that, once he gets to the Republican National Convention in July, the delegates won't accept his choice.
Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski doesn't think that's likely, though. "I cant imagine any scenario where the GOP nominee doesnt have the opportunity to pick his own vice-presidential candidate," he said.
Regarding his decision to drop out as an option for vice president, Carson said: "Im not interested in doing that for a number of reasons. I dont want to be a distraction. Im sure you remember how crazy the media was about me, I dont want to be a distraction, its too important a time in our life."
In March, Trump's former rival endorsed him for president. "Theres two different Donald Trumps," he said at the time. "Theres the one you see on stage and then the one thats very cerebral, sits there and considers things very carefully."
BTW....all these politicians with all this political "experience"..have done a GREAT JOB~!!!
D-HI. First Hindu in Congress.
The man has a pair though!
I’m down with him on the reinstatement of dueling ;o)
Condi? Hell No to the 100th power!
I’m not talking political experience.
I’m talking management experience.
Trump has plenty of that.
Carson was a tradesman (albeit at a very high level) not a manager.
No thanks to die-hard leftists, even ones that are easy on the eyes.
What if Trump has a massive stroke or heart attack in office?
Do you all really want to risk putting a leftist in the top spot again?
I want a young buck conservative ready to take over.
That was me.
I remembered wrong. She is Hindu, not Buddhist.
She’s not Indian. It’s a convert hippie sort of thing from her mother.
She is also only 35.
Jim Webb voted with the Democrat Party over 90% of the time in the Senate. Why don’t you just draft Harry and be done with it?

Well, that excludes Cruz.

She’s too pretty to be a democrat.
“Who (Republican) has a combo of military background, and has been in politics, and has not acted like a jerk?
Alan West, Duncan Hunter Jr, Martha McSally... Anyone else? “

Webb is America first in his heart, but has a lot of socialist tendencies. He voted for Obamacare, for example. I wouldn’t trust him, or any Democrat for that matter. The idea is a non-starter. As someone said, there are no Zell Millers left in the Democrat party.
Add to the list...
Dr Stabby is off the rails again.
The MSM twisting words to get a story.
I like Zell
