New York real-estate developer Donald Trump has dominated the Republican nomination campaign for months -- but his strongest support doesn't come from any of the organized blocs in the Republican party.
He polls well among conservative and evangelical voters, to be sure, running competitively against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) with these voters. He draws considerable support, also, from self-identified "liberal"or "moderate" Republicans. In fact, in the latest Quinnipiac poll, his biggest polling margin against his GOP rivals was among moderate and liberal Republicans.
But his strongest support comes from Republicans who used to be Democrats, according to new polling analysis by Democrat data firm Civis Analytics.
And those party-switching Americans -- if they register and turn up at the 2016 polls, especially in swing-state mid-western states -- could transform American politics in 2016. That's because the GOP candidate needs to sweep the mid-western states -- plus win Florida -- to reach the critical total of 270 electoral votes....

They also claim that the low iq voters support Trump so I guess the liberal and moderate Rs are the dumb ones.
quote “That’s because the GOP candidate needs to sweep the mid-western states — plus win Florida — to reach the critical total of 270 electoral votes...”
BS
Trump will completely reshuffle the electoral map, mark my words.
And I predict. Trump will win New York in the general election! (you heard it here first!)
“...to reach the critical total of 270 electoral votes.”
A large portion of the electorate is left of center, the influx of immigrants, when given the right to vote, will pull the lever for progressives, and hoping for 270 electoral votes may be pie in the sky.
(Can anyone say “President Hillary!”?)
IMHO
My union organizer cousin went to the rally in Grand Rapids but will vote for Sanders in the primary. He’s socially conservative on some issues but is full on socialist on economic issues. (Wants Obamacare fully funded by somebody else and wants to retire at 50 an d buy a $250,000 retirement home also funded by somebody else.
Any democrat who wants to vote for Trump in the Michigan primary has to sacrifice every other down ticket democrat an I don’t see it happening when they’re desperately trying to get Michigan back into democrat hands.
Trump’s got better hair.
IF your guy is going to win the primary in your state, Cruz or Trump, (or the other way around) then vote Bernie to keep the Rat fight going.
Even if the other guy is winning, as I said I support Cruz but would vote Trump, then still vote Bernie. Just keep the Rats at it, make them get nasty! Hey, it doesn`t hurt to get the Rats all riled up at the 'other one' and maybe make Bernie (or the HildaBeast) run as an Independent.
Two New York City Democrats running against each other in the general election. When was the last time that happened?
Union members, at least construction union members, are going to go for Trump in a way we have not seen for a while.
Like Ronald Reagan lost, you mean ? /s
These retards will not admit it even though they said they would then, hilarious to see them shy away when the next election is mentioned in context of the last two.
I hold my tongue and play up either Cruz or Trump, though Trump seems to be the odds on favorite!
LOL if you say so.
If anything, we’re watching the CUT OFF YOUR NOSE TO SPITE YOUR FACE purists, on FR, become more unhinged by the day.
The Democrats didn’t come and support Reagan in the primaries in any great numbers. Many supported him in the general election.
How do we get those people back? With a strong dose of Reaganesque conservatism.
Ahh and there’s the purist label.
Always used by the supporters of the most liberal candidate in the race.
I’ve talked to a lot of them. Shocked me too.
Which state did you live in?
Did you work on Reagan's campaign ?
No, you’re lying as it your wont.
