#TeamJeb won't let The Donald walk this one back
Jeb Bush is not joining his fellow Republican, Donald Trump, in arms in the age-old tradition of conservative combat against biased media reporting, and instead, Jeb and his campaign team are piling on The Donald’s latest absurd suggestion that there should be a database to track and monitor Muslims in the U.S.
A bit of a mini-media controversy erupted Thursday afternoon when headlines blasted news of Trump suggesting the mandatory registration of Muslim Americans: “Trump won’t rule out database, special ID for Muslims in US.â€
But, Mother Jones’ Kevin Drum quickly pointed out the flaw in the rush to report the latest Trump absurdity during a week of ugly xenophobic one-upmanship:
It would be one thing if Trump floated the idea himself of warrantless searches and special IDs. It’s quite another if a reporter brings them up and Trump tap dances a little bit. Needless to say, in a better world Trump would have explicitly denounced all these ideas. Obviously we don’t live in that world. Still, the only thing Trump actually said here is that we’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely. The rest was just a reporter fishing for a headline....

After such a slaughter, Zer0 will declare martial law and the elections will be put on hold until further notice. This is the only motive I can think of. Zer0 is setting up an excuse to institute martial law.

Federal martial law would have no effect on elections, which are carried out by 50 different state governments.
I’m fairly sure it will take exactly that. Probably more than once.
During WW2 there must have been a paper database of Italian immigrants, Italian-Americans, coz my grandmother, a naturalized US citizen, was placed under house arrest coz she was the president of the local Italian-American Society. One of her Italian employees was also under local police surveillance as was my grandfather. Anybody got any info? Even the local Italians & Italian-Americans started calling themselves, Martin, Morette, instead of Martini, Moretti, resp., etc. This is what happens when you are at war; you do not know really what the ethnic population is going to do. So the govt played it safe then rather than sorry later. Some Italians & Italian-Americans actually started using a French-sounding name and wound up after the war using 2 or 3 last names. I kid you not. When my father applied for social security retirement benefits in 1976, the govt actually asked him which of the 4 names he was using - “Which one you want on your checks?” He had a driver`s license in 4 different last names over 40 years-true story. My mother had 3 last names. My 2 Italian-American aunts had 3 last names from 1930-40`s coz Mussolini was in power in the 30`s and had invaded Ethiopia.

Martial law suspends the Constitution. The federal government can do anything and the states would have to follow suit. Dr Ben Carson believes that the elections could be suspended under martial law. It would be Zer0’s call.
My friend is Sicilian and her next door neighbors in Brooklyn, also Sicilians, were named Mitchell.
Their last name was really Micelli, but the authorities on Ellis Island changed it to Mitchell.
Seemed wrong to me, when I heard the story.

Trump is right based on logic and reason - not emotion or political correctness. It has nothing to do with race, but as we have repeatedly seen when the left has lost the argument based on facts they will always fall back on politically incorrect labels.
It’s going to get really ugly because the left is afraid. They are afraid that they are losing to candidates who can remove the scales of political correctness from the eyes of America. They are desperate that their usual tricks and shenanigans no longer work. They realize that they are losing the battle of public opinion on a whole host of their sacred cows - racism, abortion, immigration, climate change, the nanny state, and big government.
I am a bit optimistic at the moment. As we have seen with climate change their only tactic no longer works.
WE have the precedent of the Civil War, where elections outside of immediately affected areas went on as normal.
We don’t have the precedent of an Abraham Lincoln in office. Zer0 is like a loose cannon in a wind storm.
We all know Trump never said that...otherwise his numbers would be even higher.
