The Daily Mail writes:
Leading Republican candidate for the White House Donald Trump hasnt officially begun scouting running mates the first primary is still six months away.
Two of his 2016 competitors come to mind for the position, however: Ben Carson and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
Trumps campaign said he has cordial relationships with both men based on mutual respect.
An ex-aide to Trump, Roger Stone, was also seen meeting with Carsons campaign chief Jake Menges yesterday in New York. Stone says he did not set up the meeting at the behest of Trump, however.
Stone told DailyMail.com that he believes in citizen action and met with Menges of his own volition because he thinks Carson would be a good fit on a Trump ticket.
He stressed that the meet-up was not authorized by Trump and he no longer works for the real estate mogul...

Roger Stone ... hustling to get a couple of more minutes beyond his allotted 15
Wouldn’t mind Cruz, won’t vote for Carson - I don’t vote for cultists.
Stone and Trump have been tight for years. Stone is running Trump’s shadow campaign.
What cult is he in?
Cruz should consider Trump for Secretary of Commerce. That’s about it.
Seventh Day Adventist?
I mean, I guess people could call them that. They don’t rank high on the Jim Jones Cult index.
Carson would take away the majority of the excitement surrounding this election.
I don’t know much about them, but keeping the Sabbath shouldn’t be considered cultish.
No thanks. I will take Cruz heading up that ticket though.
That’s not why they are a cult.

i used to be for carley but she jumped on the dump trump bandwagon
oh...carson is black. See?
I’d like to see trump/Cruz, with Cruz as front man
My prediction is that Trump will ultimately tie up the Repub nomination, and choose Carson as his VP. I'm a Cruz guy, but I understand the metrics at play here.
Carson is a non-politician (very popular at the moment). He was highly successful in the private sector, very much admired for his occupation and status. He first got mass public notoriety going after Obama face to face (very brave). He is the right ethnicity (it certainly matters for the Republicans to garner votes and not be perceived as racist). True, he is not like a politician who potentially helps deliver his home State, but I don't have much doubt that Texas, Ted's home State, won't go for Hilliary or Bernie or Biden or Warren, etc. anyways.
Carson is certainly not Cruz, but that is not necessarily a detriment.
You do realize that Cruz is Hispanic?
“You do realize that Cruz is Hispanic?”
You mean a “White Hispanic”, don’t you?! Of course I do, but it just isn’t the same. IMHO.
Well, since Obama is half white, isn’t he a White Negro or White African-American or some such?
Don’t you know, in politics, only liberals count as blacks, hispanics or women.
Trump as VP would be a waste. Make him head of the Department of Homeland Security.
