Late on Friday, Erick Erickson, who is a Fox News contributor and editor of the conservative blog network RedState, announced that he was uninviting Donald Trump from RedState's annual conference of GOP leaders.
The reason, Erickson said, was Trump's overtly sexist comments to Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who had moderated the recent GOP primary debate. "As much as I do personally like Donald Trump, his comment about Megyn Kelly on CNN is a bridge too far for me," he wrote. "There are just real lines of decency a person running for President should not cross."
This would seem like a good sign: finally, the Republican party is drawing some sort of line for acceptable discourse, past which misogyny is not permitted. Except that it's hard to believe that this is actually what's going on here, that this is really about sexism or "decency" at all, given that Erickson himself has a long history of overt sexism that is every bit as bad as Trump's, if not worse.

Erickson, Kelly, Fox, Fiorina, etc. used the tactics of the Left to go after Trump. So of course the Left can see exactly what they’re doing and how transparent it is. Yet supposedly it’s Trump distracting from the conservative message.
I like Erick most of the time but I agree that he didn’t reject Trump for sexism. He did it for Jeb Bush and he can be a sanctimonious bastard sometimes but he is not unique in this and he makes a living off his politics so its really hard to be totally honest when that is the case.
What he is attempting to do is a tactical kill on Trump. He’s trying to neuter him by giving focus to a totally false claim that he was suggesting Kelly was on her period. Its the same kind of hit leftists try to pull all the time but its conservatives doing it now? I’m sorry I can’t support what they are trying to do to Trump. They are too cowardly so they are trying to use Megyn Kelly as a weapon. I’ve heard of hiding behind skirts but this sure provides a new take on it.
Erick Erickson is on WSB Radio in Atlanta in the daytime, filling a slot that opened up from the programming reshuffle when Neal Boortz retired. Almost every time I have listened in the past, Erick Erickson has made a misogynistic comment with sophomoric innuendo or double entendre with giggles or denials as if it was all a game.
The next time I tune in and hear him I will change to my recorded music.
