On This Week, Trump said the controversy had been ginned up by the media and a jealous pack of GOP rivals upset he was leading in the polls.
“This whole thing was brought up be a lot of people that are competing against me currently, that aren’t even registering in the polls, because a lot of people are tired of them,” Trump said, alluding to former Texas Governor Rick Perry, who called for Trump to exit the race following his comments about POWs. “They’re very upset that I’m leading the polls, by a large margin.”

Trump does not have a monopoly on truth. All the other candidates can tell the truth too and get as much attention.
Only problem is that they don’t. Trump has absolutely no problem telling it just like it is.
I wonder if these liberal has beens will get tired of having their rear ends handed to them by Trump and Cruz?

McCain’s obnoxious RINOness aside, Trump was dead wrong to sh*t on his military service, ESPECIALLY when Trump himself couldn’t be bothered to serve in uniform himself. If he had an ounce of humility, he’d acknowledge he went too far. But then again, we’re talking about a guy who says he can’t remember ever asking God for forgiveness.
What?.....Trump is like 10 times more in news these days than Bush or Rubio. And Rand has gone missing altogether. Perry is trying hard to memorize which state he was governor in.

In case you do not know, there was a law in place during Vietnam war era, that college students could get a legal deferment. Because the military DID NOT NEED every draft age man. And, the country DID NEED college educated people to carry on the nation’s business.
You have something against college education, and laws which exempt college students?
It’s not up to Trump to decide who’s a war hero. He should’ve kept to the subject of McCain the politician. Where was Trump during the Vietnam years?
Nice try with the misdirect. Now back to the subject matter: Trump should’ve accomplished what is for him the gargantuan task of keeping his mouth shut about the military service of someone who served when he didn’t, college deferment or no college deferment.

What Trump actually said is he likes war heroes who do not get captured.
My definition of a war hero is...
Extra ordinary bravery in war such as what Audie Murphy did.
-or- sacrificing your life to save others such as when a soldier throws his body on a live grenade to save his comrades.
McCain did none of the above. Actually the Vietnamese clled him a “SONGBIRD” because he started telling them everything they wanted to know soon after capture.

Read my previous statements. I never said Trump said that. What he did say was McCain was a war hero because he was captured. If Trump had gotten through 6 years in the Hanoi Hilton without turning into a quivering, snotbubble-blowing bucket of mush, he’d understand that surviving that ordeal constitutes heroics far beyond His Holy Brashness could ever accomplish.
I’m no fan of McCain by a LONG shot, but for Trump — who received four deferments — to blather about the military service of ANY veteran is out of hand. That is my point.
So you believe the words of communist NVA concentration camp guards? And if he was such a “songbird,” why did they feel the need to torture him for six years?
