* Fiorina claims in Rising to the Challenge that John McCain asked her to help Palin 'get up to speed on the economic issues facing the country'
* 'I never did get the chance to fulfill Senator McCain's request ... although I made numerous requests to meet with her during the campaign'
* To this day Fiorina, a contender for the 2016 GOP nomination, says she still hasn't met the Tea Party superstar
* Palin endorsed Fiorina in 2010 when she was competing in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate in California, but it was via Facebook
* A spokeswoman for Fiorina's presidential campaign told Daily Mail Online in an email after this article was published that the candidate 'was simply making the point that during the 2008 election she didn't meet Gov. Palin'
The 2008 presidential campaign may have turned out differently for the Republican Party if Sarah Palin and John McCain hadn't blown off her advice, Carly Fiorina suggests in her new book, released this morning.
Former Hewlett Packard executive Fiorina reveals in her memoir, Rising to the Challenge, that then-Republican presidential nominee McCain asked her to help Palin 'get up to speed on the economic issues facing the country' but Palin wasn't interested in her counsel.
Fiorina, a contender for the 2016 GOP nomination, says she still hasn't met the Tea Party superstar even though Palin endorsed her in 2010 when she was competing in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate in California.
A surrogate for McCain in 2008 and a member of his inner circle, Fiorina claims in her memoir that two days before the Arizona senator made public his surprising pick for vice president, he called her on the phone and asked her to advise Palin....

STFU Carly and you have no chance of winning .
McCain was not the Juan we were waiting for.....
McCain quit campaigning during the financial crises. He cancelled his ads in Florida and Obama bought up the time.
McCain lost the race!
The nice thing about this post is, I don’t need to know anything else about her. She is not my candidate.
If Sarah was the problem then why did his numbers shoot up when Sarah came into the race?
I s’pose screwin’ up HP, almost breaking the company is a good reason SP should have listened to her. /s
Sounds to me as though Ms Fiorina is starting out on this campaign with her index finger pointing. Hope she doesn’t get it broken.
MEOW!
And I might have just bought a New H.P. Computer IF H.P. didn't Suck so bad, thanks to a Certain Former CEO.
I can tell you why John McCain lost in two words: George. Bush.
McCain lost because he is one in a long line of liberal Republicans. Who needs 2 liberals in a race?
Exactly! As I recall from posts here on FR, the Romney people began vicious behind scenes personal attacks on Sarah Palin shortly after she was selected as McCain’s VP.
Crapola. Sarah Palin saved John McCain from a Mondale-style wuupin’
She emailed Palin that it is best to OVERLEVERAGE the USA to buy that crappy USSR you see from your house.
Palin’s server was down that weekend.
Jeez, Carly for financial advice, isnt that like going to Bill for Advice about why I should stay celebate?
I’m not voting for Carly, but I read the article and the writer is a d-bag. She had nothing but praise for Palin and seems to only mention that she never met her in person though she tried to. If I remember the last election cycle, a lot of Palin people wanted to jump on Bachmann for claiming she was closer to Palin than she was. The author is trying to stir something up that isn’t there.
Interesting speech and topics Fiorina is giving because if I remember correctly I thought both she and Whitman were to the left of Snowe/Collins.
MEOW!
Agree! Carly Fiorina wishes she were Sarah Palin.
The UK press is simply instigating and setting a false narrative for the U.S. press.
I’ll wait for official statements from both Sarah and Carly, thank you.
No way would Carly diss Governor Palin.
Hmmm, I distinctly remember McCain losing because he’s a nasty old curmudgeon? Which is probably dual redundant.
