Bush works hard to win support from tea party, Koch Brothers, wins polite applause

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Casting himself as a tax-cutting, passionate government reformer, Jeb Bush drew merely polite applause Friday from thousands of the nation's most-active tea party conservatives gathered at the billionaire industrialist Koch brothers' summit.

Only when the Republican presidential candidate wrapped up his 20-minute speech by calling for a military buildup did the more than 3,000 conservatives from around the nation join in a sustained cheer for Bush, a familiar face in American politics but a newcomer in front of the tea party crowd.

"I promise you, if I'm elected president of the United States, I will restore the traditional role of the United States as a leader for peace and security," Bush declared at the annual summit of Americans for Prosperity.

He snapped a salute to the audience before he left the stage....

The Dems will be voting in their own primaries instead of powering Jeb to the R nomination via Op Chaos 2016.

That would seem to say the money men were not too impressed with Jeb.

So far, he seems to be running a low-tone campaign sort of like Daddy Bush did against Clinton.

After Daddy lost, an interviewer asked him why he didn't run a more aggressive campaign. Bush responded that he thought, being the incumbent, he had it in the bad and didn't need to mount much of a reelection campaign. [His campaigning did pick up just about 2 weeks before the election, but it was too late.]

Jeb seems to be running similarly -- he seems to think he has the nomination in hand, so no need to run a vigorous campaign at this stage.

¡Yeb! has not worked hard for tea party support, he has worked hard to insult us and belittle our concerns, telling us he knows what’s best for us.

¡Yeb! can forget about ever getting tea party support.
We believe in the rule of law.
He doesn’t.
