Vote with your feet and your wallet.

No, no no. That's not how freedom works. We aren't supposed to take responsibility for ourselves. Or bother to take the time to convince business and property owners to cater to the free market.

Instead, freedom comes from singing about liberty at the beginnnig of ball games, and running down to your local politico to demand he stick a gun in anyone's face who you don't like.

If you paid attention for the last 30 years, you would know this.

And hey wait...old people, isn't the fact some of them are incapable of comprehending using the bathroom anywhere but in their pants...that certainly has an oder, better get rid of them too!! You really can't see the train coming, can you? Get off the tracks dummy.

We have our own doofus, menino to follow in the lead of the control freaks. Funny, but FR sounds just like DU when it comes to this issue.

Now that your brought that up: is it just me, or does it feel like we have a lot of anti smokers coming in here of late? I think they are registering at Free Republic so they can come in here and bash and flame us.

I am seeing a lot of hate come into our threads. I don't like it.

If these are Republican ANTI SMOKERS who hate us all so much, then I can see where the word RINO came from! And is it any wonder why our party is going to the dogs?

That's right. The eternal spirit of Bigotry needs an outlet and smokers are just the current scapegoat.

Me today and you tomorrow.

Smokers are not a financial burden as you imply: Smoking-related healthcare costs are a pittance to overall healthcare costs (8% in my state of Maine). If every smoker quit, healthcare costs would go down only temporarily and then rise above the amount you are complaining about now, because nonsmokers get sick too and for more years.

Smokers more than make up for their extra cost by dying (their choice-not yours) sooner; collecting less social security and pensions, and less time in nursing homes.

The state tax on cigarettes is all gravy. This is all backed up by facts.

Exactly! Now you got it! That is why we are fighting so hard to nip this in the bud. If we lose this freedom, more are sure to follow.

About time somebody does something to end this disgusting habit that is forced upon every non smoker in the world.

Get a grip, what are you wanting to ban next.
Did you know the world is not your oyster, it belongs to all of us.

Well if you belive that is what this country is coming too, than leave it, we dont need low IQ neaderthals here anyway.

(mega-sic)

I vote that the tribe exterminate people who write ugly sentences, once we're done ritually flogging smokers with birch branches.

Cigarettes at least provide a pleasant buzz when drinking alcohol. The illiterate make everyone else dumber by getting the eye used to misspellings.

They will have to sell off their own assets for medical care of their cancers and other related heath problems. Same eventually for obesity as well.

Aids sufferers will never have to worry.

Everyone is welcome here. Especially if you want an educated debate over the smoking issue. We could care less if you think we stink. Keep those personal opinions to yourself. The smoking threads are a tool for education. Not bashing.

Smoking and non-smoking sections are the correct way to go for everyone. And I am sure there are enough non-smoking businesses today where non-smokers do not have to even see a smoker.

If anyone comes in here for a lively, entertaining and educational debate, you are most welcome. However, personal attacks and your hatred toward a group of Conservatives who choose to smoke will not be tolerated.
