[history]
The Bush administration is pushing Congress to act on the president's plan for granting amnesty to millions of Mexican workers living and working illegally in the United States.
Amnesty and the related "guest-worker" issue have surfaced anew partly because Mr. Bush is preparing once more to take up the matter with Mexican President Vicente Fox in Monterrey, Mexico, on March 22.

Say it ain't so, George! He always said it was so. The Wall Street Journal crowd, for whom money, their self-serving definition of "economy", and not polity or the people, control Bush or his advisors. This is almost a done deal. "Supply siders" win again-short term suppression of working people's wages for profits. there is not a single policy that is more anti-Amerian than this one. Money talks - especially when wrapped in faux-morality.

this is the one item, if passed that would cause my vote to go elsewhere in the next Presidentual election. You got it right American. As long as Bush continues this amnesty insanity I will not vote for him. If I can't find someone that has a solid immigration policy, then I probably won't vote at all.
That is how you spell "one term" Major---Sir!! LOL!!

There must be no amnesty, this side of the border! That idea should not be too hard to grasp.
On the broader subject of immigration, in general, see Immigration & The American Future. The bottom line is this: The factors that justified liberal immigration into America in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries, simply no longer exist. The Liberals have been telling us for years that we are out of date. Well, on this one issue they are right. This is truly, the one issue for which times have changed.

Or, are the R's and D's fighting for votes in elections from those who would be made legal?
Yes, Bush and the Democraps are competing to outdue each other in appeasing the generally liberal Democrat voting Hispanic bloc which Bush craves to help get him re-elected in 2004. However, Bush is stupid in trying to import more illegal immigrants because these vote Democrat 85-90% of the time often long before they become citizens and earn the right to vote legally. You are correct that the increasing de-facto elimination of our southern border will speed the way toward establishment of the North American Union proposed by President Fox followed by merger with the EU and eventually one-world government.

More slave labor for big business and illegal votes for DemoRats. These people never give up. United States on it way to third world status. Yes, that big middle class has even gotten in the way of the Republicans who find it a road block to their plans of combining the U.S., Mexico and Canada into one giant 3rd World country. Bush knows what he is doing. If a liberal pushed for this I might actually be inclined to give them a "slight" benefit of the doubt for the stupidity factor.

reduce government by 75 percent How about 99.9 percent. I darn sure don't need them.

This could be the one that pushes me over the edge, too. I'll wait to see what he does before I got ballistic -- after I send a letter to the White House.

I consider this to be the act of a man who doesn't respect the laws of our nation. As such he should resign and go to work for the mob or some other concern that feels the same way he does about them. I agree. bttt

Isn't it nice when a thread degenerates into reality? It almost gives one hope.

I totally agree with your assumption on the American version of the EU. Everything I've read on FTAA (Free Trade Area of the America's) points to an exact duplication of what's happening in Europe. It's nothing more than national suicide.
To: WRhine
I think that is has come to the point for one or more of these anti-illegal immigration groups to turn their resources towards organizing a
citizens patrol group instead of lobbying congress and our President to protect us.
Nobody is listening to what the American people want.
"We The People" are going to have to protect our own borders.
I would gladly contribute my time and money to any organization that wants to patrol, apprehend illegal aliens and protect our borders.
