On what can be seen as firing a shot across the bow of partisan Democrats, President Bush sent a strong and clear message to Washington and the American people that the economy must not fall victim to the DC standard of gridlock. Bush made it clear in his town hall meeting in Ontario, California, that the economy is the biggest issue to solve in the next year, other than the continuing war on terror. The President tackled questions ranging from the war on terror, to the economy, education, and even fashion. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Hi, Miss Marple, thanks for your opinion. It just seemed to me that there were quite a few more than 2000, as there were at least 100 sitting just behind him and he was surrounded on three sides (off the stage) with packed rows and rows. In fact, some of the rows were so far back that when they panned the audience the people sitting in them were in the dark. Just curious because I sure thought there were more than 2,000.

One of the news syndicates, I think it was AP, said there were 5,000 people there.
rintense, what a welcome time out on a too busy day. Thank you from the heart.
patriciaruth, you said it well in your response, and you said it for ALL of us.

Historic accident?
I think that you're overreacting. Admiration, respect, and genuinely liking a person, mixed in with a great sense of relief that integrity has been restored to the office of the presidency and enjoying the opportunity to share these thoughts and feelings with like-minded people is not the same thing as hero worship.
In fact, I think that one of the things that most people like about this man is the fact that he comes across with humility, fully aware of his human fallibility, and many people relate to that.

I don't know. I've been floundering around for a week trying to find out how to bookmark things and just ran across the link on one of the threads today. Hope they put it back on each thread, but John must be exhausted with all the work he's done lately.

Thanks, rintense.
Patricia ruth, You are so right about the value of this thread. It has been a little history lesson every day and one that we wouldn't see unless we stayed glued to Fox News all day and maybe not even then.
A picture is worth so much; we have seen our President with almost every world leader and we have seen how much he seems to connect with each of them.
We don't worship our President ... love and adore, maybe, hee, hee.

Jim Angle on FOX who was with the President said that the audience would consists of about 4,000 people. I don't know where AP got the 2,000.
