A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 1/5/02

On what can be seen as firing a shot across the bow of partisan Democrats, President Bush sent a strong and clear message to Washington and the American people that the economy must not fall victim to the DC standard of gridlock. Bush made it clear in his town hall meeting in Ontario, California, that the economy is the biggest issue to solve in the next year, other than the continuing war on terror. The President tackled questions ranging from the war on terror, to the economy, education, and even fashion. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Go to the democrat undergound site then. No adulation going on over there.

Admiration and respect for the president is not star worship IMHO.

How could Lawgirl know what song I was singing just by looking at that picture on the Dose? We need to hire that girl!

Caption for first picture in #3: "If I weren't such a gentleman, this is how I'd slap Daschle upside the head!"

The President was great today! I feel so silly applauding in front of my TV set, but that's what his speeches do to me! I wish I could have seen the Oregon speech in its entirety, though.

The lady at the California event who wants to design an outfit for Laura...she said something inaudible, and it must've been flattering, because W. said, "You can repeat that if you want to!" and everybody laughed. Did anyone hear what she said? :-)

he recognizes that he is an historic accident...

You're new here, evidentally, so you don't realize how old and tired your little lecture is. We get this little lecture oh, maybe twice a week, and you know, it never seems to make a difference to
1) those who come here to fawn
2) those who come here to get news on the President, because we never see most of this information, or these pictures on the news.

For instance, without this thread, I probably would never have known about all the foreign trips he made and all the foreign leaders he met in the White House and abroad BEFORE 9-11. So we knew when he called on Jacques Chirac after 9-11 that he'd been buttering the old guy up for months already, laughing at his jokes and nodding intently at his stories.

There is a terrific news value to this thread, and some ladies here, and some gentlemen, too, are just so tickled at having someone praiseworthy in the White House, that yes, they do gush. But that's their business. So, now that you've repeated the lecture for the 100th boring time, please have the manners not to repeat it again.

Patriciaruth: Applause, applause!!! Excellent rebuttal!!

Rintense: Thanks again! This was a great toen hall meeting! I wish Oregon had been shown. I e-mailed Fox and told them they were out of our house for the evening because they cut him off!

Man, he was FIRED up in California! I could't get over how emphatic and forceful he was. I even loved that "not over my dead body" statement - as did that audience. I thought he handled the gal who wanted to design an outfit for Laura in a graceful and mannerly way.

I thought that the "not over...." was a direct hit at Dashle, letting him know that he would absolutely veto any attempt to raise taxes.

Read, somewhere here on FR, that there were only 2,000 in that audience. It sure looked like hordes more than that. Did anyone hear the real figure?

I absolutely adore this man when he's passionate! ;o)

And I liked the 'over my dead body' comment. I thought it was a perfect way to separate himself from his father's mistake.

Trying to capitalize on his soaring popularity with the American public, President Bush launches a "Bush Sings Showtunes" Tour, but only the regular denizens of the Daily Dose seem to bother to show up for the performances.

Well, if there were only 2,000 in that audience, they were sure loud!!! I don't have the figures, but 2,000 is a lot more when you see it than you think.

And I don't think Bush was an historic accident; I believe his Presidency was due to
1) a terrific campaign, consisting of insightful policy proposals and determination to change the tone, and a lot of people liked him and agreed
2) Gore is a bore
3) Clinton is a rapist
4) God had mercy on us,

So, I believe it was due to divine intervention in the end, not an historic accident.
