There was something missing when VH1 rebroadcast Paul McCartney's Oct. 20 Twin Tower relief concert on Christmas Day. The music video cable channel edited out the infamous twenty seconds where firefighters, cops and their friends in the crowd booed New York Sen. Hillary Clinton off the stage.

"The boos were... replaced with general crowd noise," reports the New York Post's Neal Travis, adding, "the cable channel evidently wants to keep on Hillary's good side."

No wonder.

VH1 is owned by Viacom, parent company of Simon & Schuster, the book publisher that awarded Clinton $8 million last year for a book she won't even have to write till next year.

Perhaps VH1 was just protecting Viacom's investment.

It's really a big surprise (not) that VH1 would use creative editing so that Hitlery isn't shown being booed. The music industry that supports VH1 are big Klinton supporters and they don't want Hitlery looking bad on VH1. Too bad the truth is already out.

Yep. At least, it does when the recording in question is an historical recording...and anything involving 9-11 is, IMO a piece of history. It's just the Clinton propaganda machine, continuing to roll along.

This morning, Katie and Matt were talking aboout the booing being left out. It appeared as though they thought they were off camera and did not realize that they were on live. I really believe it was a faux-pauz, because the program was on commercial and then switched to Katie and Matt, without their knowledge, then suddenly the commercial returned. DId anyone else see this happening. I know you don't watch the TOday show, I glance occassionally to keep informed of what the enemy is up too. This was definitely not in the script. They looked caught.

Really? Prove it. It's a heckovalot easier to edit out one background noise and replace it with canned crowd noise than it is to syncronize voice with lip movement.

If I ordered an original video copy of the ogiginal broadcast from VH1 and they sent me the edited version, could I sue them?

Thanks for the link...however, the article, dated October 11, predates the damning bin Laden tape, and refers to NETWORK editing, we can assume of propaganda tapes. Personally, I prefer Fox News' method of simply not showing them. From the article:

"The five major television news organizations reached a joint agreement yesterday to follow the suggestion of the White House and abridge any future videotaped statements from Osama bin Laden or his followers to remove language the government considers inflammatory."

The damning tape, according to analysts, wasn't edited. All the audio was there as far as I could tell.

Since Fox News ran the original clip at least once every half hour when it first happened, maybe Brit Hume can feature this on one of his Footnotes segments. Maybe they should play the "before" and "after" versions and let the people decide.

Media bias has been a big topic recently. Perhaps this can be used as a glaring example of what it is all about.
