I thought it was common knowledge that segments have been removed. Here is one general news item on the subject:

I wasn't suggesting someone had lip-synched it. I simply said that it had been edited.

Thanks for the link...however, the article, dated October 11, predates the damning bin Laden tape, and refers to NETWORK editing, we can assume of propaganda tapes. Personally, I prefer Fox News' method of simply not showing them. From the article:

"The five major television news organizations reached a joint agreement yesterday to follow the suggestion of the White House and abridge any future videotaped statements from Osama bin Laden or his followers to remove language the government considers inflammatory."

The damning tape, according to analysts, wasn't edited. All the audio was there as far as I could tell.
