We need the stewardship of 5,000 Free Republic members to insure the continuation of the Free Republic Life Form!
Jim Robinson said in yesterday's post: "My projections are that our regular monthly expenses for next year will be running in the neighborhood of $22,000 per month, or approximately $264,000 total for the year. This means we will need to raise approximately $66,000 per quarter."
If 5,000 Free Republic members who believe in paying their own way and that no free lunch ever exists, pledge $5/month. Jim's goals and needs will be quickly surpassed!
5,000 good stewards of Free Republic pledging $5/month will total $75,000 per quarter. That would allow Jim/John a little breathing room!
Many of us donate more per month than that. So please don't reduce your donation. We just need 5,000 regular pledgers to make things easier for Jim.
Are there 5,000 good Stewards out there who can afford $5/month to keep alive the Free Republic Life Form?
One way to afford this is to cancel your subscription to your left wing fish wrap or bird cage liner. Donate half of that monthly cost to your favorite charity and the rest to Free Republic. If you do this, you remove your money from the enemies of America and invest it with the friends of America, Free Republic! That would be a double winner for America!

Our borough recreation association, which maintains the local lakes, trails, and ballfields, has an annual list of "Allstars" that get their name published in the newsletter if they send their dues before the end of January (the deadline is March). Seems to me that they're stigmatizing those of us who are usually a little tapped just after Christmas. I send the dues in February whether I can spare it in January or not.
No, this was just a selfish act on my part. I will be off the board tomorrow and most of Sunday.
Jim Robinson's data re the money needed kept coming in last night while I dreamed. This morning I woke up decided to start this 5,000 Freepers who care are needed now! thread.
So I doing this for selfish reasons as I will miss the official quarterly donation threads by BadJoe and others!
The math is basic and my request is simple, 5,000 Freepers who care are needed now! If 5,000 Freepers donate 5$/month, we can meet Jim's cash needs! All other donations will be like icing on top of the cake!

While we're talking money--did you hear about the young man went to New Orleans, stopped in a bar, ordered a drink, and put a $20 dollar bill on the bar. The bartender served the drink, took the $20, but an $18 bill on the bar.
The young man said, "hey that's no good". The bartender said, "sure it is, you take this to any bar or shop on this street and it's good.
So, off he went. Stopped in another bar, asked the bartender if he'd change the bill. The bartender said, "sure, how do you want it, 2-$9s or 3-$6s.
