***any of yall want to talk about Baptist stuff?***

OK, I'll play...

You want to talk about:

a) baptism by sprinkling or dunking
b) adult vs. infant baptism
c) reformed baptist vs. free will baptist
d) is it wine or grape juice

It's almost midnight. Let's go with something lite :') It's grape juice but scripturally why couldn't it be wine?

Yup, midnight, one last post and I'm going to bed...

I think it is wine in the Bible....

They couldn't prevent fermentation, so it would all turn into wine.

Plus, look at Jesus turning water into wine. Why would they compliment good grape juice?

Good night.

Ok, here's my question, the Baptists seem quite fond of St. Patrick, of all people. Any other saints who make the Baptist cut?

P.S. Gamecock, your tag-line is TOO funny.

Really? Well, sorry to disappoint you but I'm not your typical baptist. I never cared much for SPD. I didn't like getting pinched for not wearing green. (payback was sweet though-green eyes) Only other saint I can think of is saint dave and I guess he's ok :')

A. We dunk at my church.
B. No infant baptism.
C. I am either a Reformed or a Free Will Baptist, though I'd say I'm closer in theology to Reformed Baptists because my church doesn't practice foot-washing as a sacrament.
D. We use grape juice in communion. It has to be pure grape juice without fermentation because fermentation represents sin. Same thing with the unleavened bread (we use little water crackers.)

Yes many of us do appreciate the historic Patrick. We Christians are all saints. I am a saint, just like Paul who proclaims,

"To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints;" Romans 1:7
"Unto the Church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints;" 1 Corinthians 1:2

"… unto the Church of God, which is at Corinth, with all the saints, which are in all Achaia;" 2 Corinthians 1:1

"… to the saints which are at Ephesus;" Ephesians 1:1

"… to all the saints in Christ Jesus, which are at Philippi;" Philippians 1:1

"… to the saints and faithful brethren in Christ, which are at Colosse;" Colossians 1:2

"Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints." Hebrews 13:24

Recntly I've taken to wearing orange on St. Patirck's Day. I have an ethnic connection to Ulster and it seems more appropriate that way. I still get pinched though.

Cause god created it for our enjoyment. It is our nature that is sinful, not an inanimate object, like wine. Wine is no more sinful than that rock n my front yard....

Actually wine, when referred to in the Bible, refers to any liquid byproduct of grape. When the Bible refers to fully fermented alcoholic wine, it mentions "Wine on the lees",(Isaiah 25:6).

I don't like wine. I prefer the taste of grape juice. Just wondering why most baptists use it instead of wine though. Better keep an eye on that rock . I've seen some really bad ones lately:')

??? footwashing is the defining issue between Reformed and Free Will baptists? Don't you mean Primitive and Free Will Baptists?
