I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

Dearest Lord, we pray for our political foes. We pray for those who promote deviancy, support abortion, obstruct the rule of law, trash the family structure, and encourage communism. We pray for those who choose chaos over civility. We pray for those who refuse Your Divine Precepts but trust in their own broken morals.
We pray for woke democrats because in their rebellion, they invite destruction. We pray that they will repent before they condemn themselves to eternal damnation. We pray that their blindness will be healed and that they may see the perfect love and mercy of our Mighty and Awesome God.
Lord, it is a joy and a comfort to surrender to You. Thank You for the peace and the wisdom that we find in Your Word. Thank You for Your Son, and in His name we do pray.
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Saint Lucia was from Syracuse in Sicily, a virgin betrothed to a certain pagan. Since her mother suffered from an issue of blood, she went with her to the shrine of Saint Agatha at Catania to seek healing (see Feb. 5). There Saint Agatha appeared to Lucia in a dream, assuring her of her mother's healing, and foretelling Lucia's martyrdom. When her mother had been healed, Lucia gladly distributed her goods to the poor, preparing herself for her coming confession of Christ. Betrayed as a Christian by her betrothed to Paschasius the Governor, she was put in a brothel to be abased, but was preserved in purity by the grace of God. Saint Lucia was beheaded in the year 304, during the reign of Diocletian.
