Rev. Chad Ripperger explores exorcism, demons, angels in speech

The term “exorcist” goes past the iconic 1973 horror film. The belief finds itself prominent within the Catholic community. Rev. Chad Ripperger is not only a priest within the religion but also an exorcist.

There are currently around 150 Catholic priests in the United States who have received training to perform exorcisms, and when researching famous exorcists like Revs. Vincent Lampert and Gabriele Amorth, Ripperger’s name appears.

Whether it was Catholics interested in delving into their religious relationship or people intrigued by the big bolded word “exorcist” on the event flyer, people filled the majority of the Grand Ballroom in the Lory Student Center at Colorado State University to hear Ripperger teach the audience about angels and devils.

“The way you know an angel interacting with you in your life is the fact that it’s normal,” Ripperger said. “They can actually put images in our imagination, and they can actually act upon our intellect and empower it so we get greater clarity about things that we didn’t have before.”

Ripperger said there are three main certitudes that prove angels exist: metaphysical, physical and moral. Metaphysical refers to the nature of being and how things actually exist; physical refers to things within the physical world that are based on laws of nature; and moral refers to knowledge of a human character.

It is a matter of moral certainty that angels are also referenced in scripture, but angels are not the only thing discussed. Ripperger said 23% of the Gospels are Christ dealing with demons.

“Most people have this idea that demons are just these random marauding things that go around and victimize you when you don’t have any control over the situation, and that’s actually not true,” Ripperger said. “They are, in fact, the most regulated thing that exists in the universe. It’s just that we can’t understand their patterns when they attack us.”

Ripperger said only 0.5% of the population is possessed. With a world population of about 8.2 billion, this would mean around 41 million people are possessed. Often, when someone says they are feeling ill and possessed, Ripperger steers them to a doctor, although he said some things do not have a scientific explanation.

There are several key ways a demon is able to infiltrate, Ripperger said: diabolic oppression, obsession and possession.

If a person reaches the point of possession, Ripperger said the main ways to tell are if someone speaks languages they have never known or studied before; if they contain hidden knowledge; if they have an aversion to sacred things; or if they do something beyond human capacity, such as morphing.

“(In) the more extreme forms, which you rarely see, they’ll actually change into animals and things of that sort,” Ripperger said. “You’re not dealing with something on a natural level.”

Ripperger said the primary three things that cause possession include committing a grave sin like premarital fornication, having a grave sin committed against oneself — so if someone is assaulted or has been taken advantage of, they are more susceptible — and reparation for a sin, such as divorce.

Ripperger said that not being holy, whether that be engaging in premarital sex, watching pornography, consuming drugs or alcohol and even playing video games, makes a person more susceptible to demonic possession.

“(God) permits (possession); he’s willing to allow us to suffer so that we become more virtuous, … become more holy and … work out our salvation in that regard,” Ripperger said.

Ripperger was able to share these beliefs at CSU due to an invitation by the organizer Ram Catholic.

“We just want to have an opportunity to provide a space for people to be curious about what is true, to come to a place where they can have questions and hopefully have some of them answered,” Campus Ministry Director Erika Richard said. “Yes, evil does exist, but that’s not the end of the story.”

Two of the students, staff and those involved with the church who came to learn about Catholicism were Ellie O’Rourke and Abby Lucero. Both are members of the Catholic religion and wanted to learn more about their faith in regard to evil and the world.

“I think it was an eye-opening talk,” O’Rourke said. “It was a perspective I hadn’t heard before.”

Saint John XXIII Catholic Church is located near campus at 1220 University Ave. for those wanting to learn more about Catholicism.

“We believe that the Lord is the way, the truth and the life, so God is the way, the truth and the life, and the person of Jesus Christ (is) the way, the truth and the life,” Richard said.

I follow Fr. Dan Reehil who is also an exorcist and he shared with tattoos, the ink can be Satanically blessed and provide a point of entry.

Mark 16:16-18
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Have you tried any of these? Odd, only Ordained Priests can cast out demons. So for all you "Evangelicals" don't try this on your own, the evil will increase. Jesus gave his disciples power to cast out demons, not some Joe scmoe claiming to be a preacher.

The same things with the drugs being brought over the border. Many of the cartels are practical satanists, practicing the satanic religion of Santa Muerta, and they are known to place curses on the drugs before they are shipped here.

Tattoos and Catholicism: A Deep Dive into Faith, Ink, and Controversy (Fr Ripperger alert)
Sacredotus ^ | November 26, 2024 | Sacerdotus

…The Catholic Church has no official, binding doctrine on tattoos. You won’t find a paragraph in the Catechism of the Catholic Church saying, “Thou shalt not ink thy skin.” This silence leaves room for interpretation, guided by broader principles like respect for the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and the virtues of prudence and modesty.

Ripperger argues tattoos violate natural law by altering the body unnecessarily, calling them a form of mutilation. Religious tattoos, he says, are “the worst,” as they misuse sacred symbols in a sinful context. He’s even claimed modern tattoo ink might be “cursed,” linking it to demonic influence (Sensus Fidelium). On X, followers amplify this, with posts from March 27, 2025, citing his view that “Jesus and Mary are not meant to be inked on our arms.”

Old Testament teaching was against tattoos. Leviticus 19:28, “You shall not make gashes in your flesh for the dead, or incise any marks on yourselves.”

Careful! Remember this attitude was also expressed by the Apostles in Mark 9:38-40:

38 “Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”

39 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40 for whoever is not against us is for us.

Now should people collect themselves into one universal (greek:catholic) church again and stop being divided into fractious denominations? Yes! Did Christ appoint the Apostles, give Peter the keys of the Kingdom? Yes! But do we fully understand all the ways grace works? nope.

Simultaneously in the general case you are right and this is good advice. I’ve read Fr. Ripperger’s book and this is not an area to trifle with; and most priests do not go about looking for demons to fight, but leave that work largely to specialists.

No one should journey into this area lightly or as some means to strengthen their belief in God, it is beyond dangerous to go in uncovered, in fact don’t even look in that direction unless called for that role in the Church, how will we know if we’re called? We are already in some manner involved in fighting the battle. We will know.

The Holy Spirit in the role of Restrainer is holding back much more than we realize, things that would be seen as magic, sorcery but actually coming from the power and workings of Satan. Moses experienced this with Jannes and Jambres.

This activity will increase as we approach the time of the end. Descending into what appears to be signs and wonders when it is actually the unhindered lying workings of Satan and his increased authority to operate here.

We do not necessarily ‘see’ this activity, rather we encounter it, it manifests. It is always seeking authority by the more we look toward it, the more we engage it, wonder at it, then it will attempt to interact in that same space with us. This is also why the Bible shares very little information because any specifics of acknowledgement would provide Satan with another powerful tool in his arsenal to use against believers and Gods plan for humanity.

We are told only exactly what is needed to safeguard us and to defeat the enemy.

In the Book of Daniel, we can very briefly see past Gabriel where he arrives to visit and where it has the appearance of the door being slightly ajar revealing some surprising things about how they operate and how much they can and cannot perform in our physical reality unless permitted by God. In many ways, Satan and the ‘Prince of Persia’ had the stronger claim in the conflict because of what Gabriel’s mission really was intending to fully accomplish.

These entities continually seek interaction and the more we look the more authority they receive. If we pray daily for a hedge of protection around us and our families, their authority is greatly hindered if not completely disabled for that day. This is why it is included in the Lords Prayer, ‘deliver us from evil’ the evil one.

This is also how destruction, death and explosions causes people to look, this increases the authority they receive to operate. This is why for example after 9/11 we elected that same evil power into the White House to further their wicked agenda to operate within the USA. Even now it is manifesting again its authority into New York City and its wicked leadership.

Not unlike how Satan is right now today seeking acknowledgment in these human constructed drones with their AI controls to then make the leap from the physical world of their surveillance tools to the overlay of spiritual manifestations via UAPs, orbs and other alien imagery for his operations to be eventually allowed and ‘acknowledged’ all across the landscapes of the Earth. It is also I believe, Satan’s attempt with AI and his ‘unholy spirit’ mimicking a form of faux omnipotence operating openly and making regions and people more pliable and ready to accept their wicked Godless plans for totalitarian AI monitored surveillance control. which Satan can then inhabit this ‘new world order’ ‘Beast’ system being ‘great reset’ into where he sits in the seat of power over it.

As with the ‘hitchhiker effect’ claims as experienced by some with UAP/UFO encounters and from those exploring the phenomena. It is full on demonic and they will masquerade as anything we want them to be, black triangles, tictac’s, bigfoot, owls, orbs always appearing as what we expect them to be, as long as it causes us to ‘open the door’ to them. When they arrive at our door, they must be invited and then they always will begin by manifesting around the fourth watch, 3 AM. Only prayer and fasting can overcome this.

This is very real to anyone that has experienced it directly, and even now they are being held in check by the Holy Spirit whose power and authority keeps this activity from being entirely manifested or encountered or allowing direct communication. This static condition withholding will continue until the ‘Restrainer’ is removed out of its way.

Nobody is calling youth pastor John to deal with demons or possession.

Y’all call Father O’Flaherty from Our Lady of Hope to drive out the evil.

But then you go back to badmouthing the church and it’s priesthood pretty quickly after that.

Think you would think twice about that.

Nope. That’s one giant leap of illogic… as a matter of fact I have Fr. Ripperger’s book and take the subject quite seriously.

However the Gospel example involves a believer who obviously took demons seriously and, trusting in Christ, was successful in expulsing them. As Jesus told the disciples not to rebuke that unnamed one, it seems unwise to make the same assertion today.
