Join with fellow FREEPERS to pray for AMERICA: For those in Authority in Government, Family, Military, Business, Agri-Business; End to Sex Slavery; Healthcare, Education, Churches, and the Media. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. (1 John 5:14)

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. ~ 1 Timothy 2:1-2

On this day in 1789, George Washington was chosen by the electoral college to be President; John Adams was chosen Vice President.

George Washington, 10/3/1789: “By the President of the United States of America. a Proclamation. Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor…” God, it is our duty to acknowledge Your providence. It is our duty to obey Your will. It is our duty to be grateful for Your benefits. It is our duty to humbly implore Your protection and favor.

But You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered]. Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted (leaned on, relied on You, and were confident) and You delivered them. They cried to You and were delivered; they trusted in, leaned on, and confidently relied on You, and were not ashamed or confounded or disappointed. (Ps. 22:3-5) Father, we bless You for the firm foundation on which our Republic was built. Thank You for leaders who were first of all servants of Yours. We have a godly heritage. What they said about the calling You have on our Nation and their prayers are still alive! They have given us a knowledge of Your will and we agree. “All the mighty ones upon earth shall eat [in thanksgiving] and worship; all they that go down to the dust shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive. Posterity shall serve Him; they shall tell of the Lord to the next generation. They shall come and shall declare His righteousness to a people yet to be born—that He has done it [that it is finished]!“(Ps. 22:29-31)

We pray that our UNITED States of America will honor You. We pray that the Gospel will go forth from us to the uttermost parts of the earth. We pray that You would pour out of Your Spirit on all flesh from sea to shining sea. We declare that Jesus is Lord over our U.S.A. We believe that as You pour out of Your Spirit on all flesh that it will include those in authority in every berg, county, city, state and in Washington, D.C. This outpouring of glory, holiness and zeal for Your kingdom will no doubt uncover all unrighteousness. We welcome Your cleansing fire.

Protect those who are boldly standing up for what is right– spirit, soul and body. May their godly behavior and wisdom from You be contagious. By Your favor and grace, we pray that their wise and witty plans would be subject to the parting of the red tape so that they can be implemented speedily. May wisdom be made clear and have favor.

Oh, gracious and merciful God, we know You have given us the opportunity for a new beginning. Keep Your watchmen on the wall so that this opportunity can be the reality of a shining city on the hill. We love and honor You in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For the kingship and the kingdom are the Lord’s, and He is the ruler over the nations.
