Son of Peridition
John 17:12
Did Jesus in the movie reply, “I am NOT in ‘need’ of someone like you…and don’t call me Shirley.”
It probably isn’t Mike Pence... But it oughtta be..
Not one of us knows another’s heart fully and with their last breath even a monster of a person can find salvation. Only God knows each of our hearts, only He is our judge, and that is the way it should be.
Perhaps Judas made a fatal mistake when, upon realizing he’d sinned, confessed to the “chief priests and elders”. As an Apostle, he should well have known to go to Christ Himself for forgiveness.
Maybe “Bob Dylan”?
Allow me to register a point of order, Bob. While Judas may not have received saving grace, I question whether he is technically “in hell” at this moment, for the simple reason that until the Last Judgment no one is actually sent to hell. Indeed, one may wonder whether God has even created it yet. We know the Abyss and Hades already exit, but apparently Hell is still under construction.
Someone wisely said, “When I get to heaven, I wonder how many will be surprised to see me there.”
No, no he didn’t.
He lives in a Brownstone in Brooklyn by the Park, right near Chuckie S.
He only visits He-ll on the weekends.
No paradox at all. Foreknowledge doesn’t mean predetermined. That simple. We all have free will. Always had, always will.
I am with you. In Israel, you did not leave a dead body to rot. They are buried, or some even cremated. I bring this up, because Judas was burst asunder. Split from gullet to the guts. Someone has to do that to him, or he hung from a tree long enough to rot until his guts spilled out. My thought, is he was hanged by the Pharisees and they gutted him for punishment for showing them up.
Jesus Christ Superstar tries to paint Judas on a sympathetic light. But he was a common thief.
Friend?
That's not true. The Last Four Things: Death, Judgement, Heaven or Hell. They all occur in the same moment of time.
P.S. Why did Jesus Christ say there were already souls in Hell during His time on earth?
On the contrary, I believe this is vital work.
First, no where have I read that it’s a sin to speculate on anyone’s Final Home.
Second, we do it all the time - Hitler, Ted Kennedy, John Paul Stevens, and just WAIT until Fauci dies.
Third, as I wrote earlier, it can be insightful. Why did Peter not kill himself while Judas did? Our Risen Lord welcomed Peter - what does that tell us about the potential for Judas had he not hanged himself?
And fourth, and probably often overlooked, we betray Jesus all the time. We break the commandments, we sin against others, we swear, drink, and so on. What makes us any better? The answer, usually, is that we are not BETTER but, so it would seem, we are like Peter and are TRUSTING in God’s Mercy.
Of course nobody knows what’s in a man’s heart and, thus, where people Land. And anyone who says they KNOW that which only God knows is flirtin’ with disaster. But I consider this exercise to be fair AND fruitful. YMMV.
Where did you come up with that nonsense?
Jesus’ purpose in that parable was not to teach the existence of hell but another concept entirely. Parables are insufficient for doctrinal foundation.
Then what are they? No more than Grimms Fairy Tales?
Only God knows their fate.

Be careful, because only God knows your fate too!
