A journalist who covers faith and religion is describing how she stumbled into a eye-opening story: Some big names among Trump-hating evangelicals used left-wing sources to fund their Bible study intended to put the Church to sleep.
Megan Basham, a Daily Wire reporter, recently had her curiosity piqued when reading a new Tim Alberta book about religion. Flipping through the pages, she discovered a Bible study entitled “The After Party – toward better Christian politics,” which is praised in the evangelical-bashing book.
That forthcoming Bible study was created by New York Times columnist David French, Russell Moore of Christianity Today, and Duke Divinity professor Curtis Chang.
“Secular news outlets from NPR to The New York Times are hailing Tim Alberta’s new book, The Kingdom, The Power, and the Glory, for furthering the popular thesis that evangelicals have abandoned themselves to political idolatry," Basham wrote recently.

Rob Reiner must have read this book. This seems to be his current obsession, telling Christians Jesus wants them to stay out of politics.
Because Christians in politics goes against their grain as they attempt to get access to our children in order to do all sorts of vile evil deeds to them.
This is war!
If it was an unbiased critique of Christians and politics, and trying to suggest Christian churches refrain from politics, it would only be an an honest critique if it most of all was going after not “evangelicals” but the uber Left, uber Liberal “mainline” churches like the UCC, the Methodists, the Lutherans, ect. They are 100% politics more than “Christian”.
I drive past a Lutheran church when I go to work. They are alway flying the pride flag and put up various signs for BLM, Ukraine, “gun violence” and the like. They support the current thing.
bkmk
Churches today are not taxed just so they will stay out of politics. I believe this is from the Johnson administration.
Some churches still pay taxes just so the can talk about politics in sermons.
And some minority churches are not taxed but allowed to preach politics due to their demographics in big cities.

Really? Do you know of any?
That’d be quite a demonstration of faith, since donors would be no longer be able to deduct donations as charitable contributions.
Do Christians know they’re mocking them to their faces? “The After Party” where substance abuse and the orgy will take place. Give up your beliefs, Christians, and surrender to hedonism. It’s what they’re all about. It’s why abortion is their true central organizing principle. Their god is their stomach. Their glory is in their shame. (Phil 3:19)
The church I read about that paid taxes just so they could talk politics is not the type of church I would want to be a member of. They were a neo-nationalist socialist group in Colorado.
I'm guessing today's IRS would gladly turn a blind eye to such a 'church'.
Democrats need to stay out of politics.
